Paul Walker dead

Wait just a minute. Are you trying to say that some people on this forum might treat his death different had been a gun builder who died in a car crash?

He was a great actor. Not just a “celebrity”. I was upset as **** when Noveske died, and I didn’t know him either. 2 people were killed in wrecks yesterday in my town too. I didn’t know who they were, but I felt sentiment. Everytime I see on tv: “US Soldiers KIA” I don’t know who they are, but I send my prayers to their families.

This thread sure brought out some Grade AAA donkeyholes.

As far as his acting chops, he was marginal at best. I was simply commenting on your reaction. You didnt react to his death, but to the fact that he liked guns. That in turn made it sound like a tragedy only because of his hobby.

I really have no dog in this fight though, another person died that I didnt know.

I knew about his death a while before posting here. I just didn’t know he liked guns.

The only thing I care about is that they didn’t take any uninvolved motorists or pedestrians out.

Looks like a young tree might have been sacrificed though.

I have a little different perspective on this. My cousin was killed by a punk who was street racing. Walker was just an overgrown punk. I’m not glad he and his friend are dead but I am glad they didn’t take anyone else with them and I am glad they are no longer a menace to innocents.

except he wasnt the one driving

You really think Walker was himself above street racing but willing to ride with someone who was not? These guys were hauling ass when they hit the pole. I’m guessing 100 plus in a 45 zone. If they had hit another car the fatality count would have been 3 plus. I have no respect whatsoever for folks who are above the law or folks who risk the safety and lives of innocents. Speaking for my cousin’s widow and orphans, they don’t either.

Just got home from visiting family over Thanksgiving and had the rather annoying experience of driving the last few miles with a bunch of retards “mourning” this guys death. They all had their little POS hatchbacks with “RIP Paul Walker” written on the rear window and were driving like complete assholes. There was about thirty of them and they were driving slow to blocking traffic on the interstate so that they could take turns racing.

Why because people aren’t crying themselves to tears? Or is is because people don’t seem to share your thoughts?

I was suspicious that excessive speed when I first heard the story. Seeing the wreckage did not lessen my suspicions, but it can be hard to make estimations of speed with the fire damage. It does appear that some outlets are supporting this theory with preliminary police findings. http://www.examiner.com/article/paul-walker-new-details-witness-reports-on-paul-walker-roger-rodas-car-crash

FWIW, a quick google search found no record of street racing or reckless driving for either of the deceased. Most of the web info paints them in a favorable light in terms of charity and community work. Then again, the media rarely piss on celebrity graves.

Seems it would be dangerous for workers to pull out of driveways in the immediate area of that speed shop. No way could you avoid a car racing as fast as that one when pulling out to go home from work. From the wreckage pics only the hood looks salvageable.

The police have gone from saying that they suspect speed was a factor to confirming that speed was a factor.

I didn’t know he was in “Flags of Our Fathers”.

This pretty much sums up his career. Figured atleast he would be a huge advocate of safe racing and keeping it on the speedways.

My sentiments exactly… it is amazing how stupid people glorifiy this kind of behaviour. I don’t mind if people kill themselves doing whatever they want, but please don’t include me, or my loved ones, or anyone else that is not involved, into this “joyride” imbecility. The streets and highways are not playgrounds.

Some of the quotes from that link are almost unbelievable.

“When we saw Paul and Roger leave, Paul was the passenger in the vehicle. They both were experienced drivers. This was just a tragic accident that happened on a joyride,” another eyewitness said.

Because in no way could either of them actually be responsible for what happened.

We’re all here driving, enjoying each other, and God must’ve needed help.”

Or perhaps God said, “I see once again you are thinking about nothing except yourselves, and again putting innocent people in harms way for the sake of a childish personal speed thrill. Well so be it then, before you two cause some heartbroken mother and father to bury one of their children 3 weeks before Christmas…”

I grew up watching his movies and enjoyed his other movies besides F&F franchise, Running Scared was pretty good as was Into to the Blue.

He was a good dude who remained grounded and did a lot for charities.

He will be missed.

I will remember all those that have passed along with their families.
