That is just dumb. Not only could you have damaged a $2,000 rifle but you destroyed a $300 rail. I don’t understand people.
Is this one of those things that started with “Hey, hold my beer! Watch this!”
More like an “I’m doing this because its stupid and want impress my friends”
This ranks right up there with can I make a midlength by simply moving my gas block forward and a new gas tube. I guess common sense truly is a super power nowadays.
Well, I guess that’s one way to do it…
If you account for the cost of a urx wrench, he probably cost himself $135 net. He’s just lucky that he didn’t shred the upper receiver, or worse, damage the barrel during the process.
Not to mention he could have recouped the cost of the wrench…
Face…palm…
No comment.
I try to abide by the old saying “If you don’t have anything nice to say…” you know how it goes. But this is just beyond retarded. A waste of a perfectly good piece of equipment and money. What pisses me off even more is the fact that I’m trying to find a good deal for a good used URX II and would’ve offered him something for it. $300 buys you a good amount of ammo, a pretty decent shotgun and even a scoped hunting rifle these days.
Whatever he wants to do…
I got a good laugh this morning.
Thanks.
Meh. Either independently wealthy or taxpayer-provided.
While I find senseless destruction of perfectly good parts distasteful, from a strictly financial point of view his money was already spent and out of his hands. Perhaps recouping a couple hundred wasn’t on his list of ‘worth it’ at this time. I imagine there will come a time in the future he might look back and this and kind of wish he still had the rail or recouped the money. But if he’s really on a ‘now now now’ schedule, it won’t come up again.
Anyway, thanks for photos - kind of entertaining in a sick sort of way.
When was the last time you got three pages of complete and total agreeance on a gun forum?
OP… tell your friend nobody here is impressed… unanimous vote of Full Retard.
He knows. I talked to him after I sent him a link to the thread. He’s a little suprised at how serious some people are taking it. He still has no regret. Not rich btw. Lumper living check to check. I just want to reiterate that I posted this for people to laugh and be glad that your not that impatient. He’s not a bad person.
It would have been better had I reacted in the same manner.
He’s a straight up gangsta. Respect.

hey at least this wasn’t a " how not! to remove an ingrown toenail " thread

He’s having a perspective failure… he might as well have soaked three $100 bills with lighter fluid and dropped a match on them. We’d all be responding the same way. It’s hard for anyone to sympathize with that kind of impatience, and the waste is appalling.
I don’t think I could let something like that happen in my home. I can’t condone that kind of behavior.
I would have had a hard time watching someone do that, but hey, his rail & his money. Seems like one of those “hey yell, watch this!” moments.
KAC URX II upper - $1700 - 2000
Noveske NSR 13.5 rail - $270
Metal hacksaw - $20
Plumbers pliers - $30
Dremel tool w/kit - $70
Pictures of a grown man destroying a beautiful KAC Upper like a spastic sugared-up kid rampaging in a toy store - Priceless!
There are something’s money can’t buy, for everything else there’s credit cards!
