Well, I do have a Community Effort project idea if anyone’s interested… call it a Clone/Tribute Cookbook section - the idea is complete parts lists with “close enough” alternates where needed to build notable AR variants piece by piece.
I mess with clones just enough that I could probably pitch in ideas for alternate parts if a thread was listing which ones are needed. But I don’t mess with clones enough to know what is being sought after.
Things are slow enough here that I look through latest threads instead of specific subforms. That does accentuate the general discussion problem, though.
First step would be determining what are the “Significant Variants” that can’t be ordered factory-assembled. Basically, my first thought was start at the basic bread-and-butter Ordinary 11-B/0311 Issued models from 1965(?) to now, then add specialties.
Maye we should even start with the first SP1’s LeMay bought off the shelf for Strategic Air Command nuke guards.
Need I say more? You might as well make “Whats your favorite breakfast cereal.” threads.
Ok, and stopping by once a week or so just to say “this place sucks” helps how exactly?

You know you can ignore General and/or GD pretty easily. The downside is it might be 1-7 days without new content anywhere else.

Helping? Pretty sure we are long past that.
Much like the modern Hollywood movie, its entertainment value has shifted from watching the movie itself to watching people clown on the absurdity of the plot points. So why would I want to ignore GD? Im thoroughly enjoying its absurdity and downspiral into the abyss.
At the risk of stating the obvious, the owner of this (fill in pejorative here) clearly has no interest in operating a growing discussion forum. However, the same cannot be said for selling e-mail addresses. Just for giggles I signed on here the other day, soon followed by an avalanche of firearm related junk e-mail. sigh…

Hey, something that could drive some traffic back to forums is the trading marketplace.
Reddit is shutting down GAFS, so there may be some people looking to sell stuff.
I still check in every few days… usually only post when I have an update on the .450 SMC, though with the recent injury that’s going on hold until I heal.
That’s annoying though. When peoples’ only contribution to the site is selling their crap.

Yea,its still a sad state of affairs! I was gone for a week and just checked in this AM and while I had a total of 4 “new” things to look at all are pretty irrelevant to anything worth while. Yea a link to the new FN weapons,so that cool but everything else is far from M4 info or anything really worthy of guns/reloading/tactic info. Oh well not really bitchin just stating the facts,LOL. And with that said I will still continue to come here and always be underwhelemed.

I haven’t been here in so long I don’t remember when it was. For some reason, the thought popped in my head to come see if this site had been “refurbished” to make it usable. Looks like no such luck. I will stumble around a bit like I am in an unfamiliar dark room, and then I will see y’all next year. If I remember.

The blank area at the top of each forum section is a testament to the uselessness of the so-called IT guy that showed up here for a couple weeks before vanishing.
