I agree 100%. Many here won’t admit it or perhaps don’t see it. ARFCOM has had and perhaps has its issues with punks. For the most part I have found the actual gun areas of the forum have very little of that.

Damage already has been done and the time for action is long gone, this all occurred a full year before the site reskin nothing was done. Im just pointing out Im not the only one who saw the problem.
Think about it, if just us “only two or three dudes” who are still left on here are still willing to speak out about it just extrapolate to how many others who never said anything before the reskin saw this problem as well but didnt say anything about it and just walked away. Hell, if they pointed it out DCG probably would have banned them anyway and Sam would have been OK with it.
There is no grand conspiracy just realizations, there were signs yet nothing was done.
Just for the future, as a mod saying you’re not gonna use the ban hammer just because people disagree with someone, thats exactly what DCG did, then let his cronnies like 1911 spam the board non stop breaking clear rules, he was protected not even Skintop could have banned him. Not using the tools our enemies use against us has always been one the major criticisms of our side.

I have a suggestion. Kill the “general” category. I have no clue about running the website, but if this is a gun forum, it doesn’t need it. Or, is there something with the number of clicks and posts or traffic in general that contributes something to running the forum? As I said, I have no clue with the operation of a site. I’m on other forums, and rarely if ever post in that category. So if this site is dying, why not take a chance and see what happens?

But, I know that every time I look to see what’s going on, I see what looks like a series of Facebook posts from the 55+ up crowd.

This is one of the things I noticed, most of the out of touch, terrible takes on anything like military, geopolitical/strategic, or even domestic politics related are done by people with “Site Sponsor” by their name. Currently GD just looks like a bunch of “Site Sponsors” sharing their terrible takes with each other.

But why not get rid of it? It’s happened on a couple other forums I still visit. See what happens. Or, do the site owners/sponsors/administrators really really want to know what people’s favorite band is, or if they had bacon for breakfast. I mean for christsake, does it really bring people to the forum?

To be candid, I don’t think the owners really care. They don’t even talk to us mods and frankly I think they’ve written us off since the community didn’t give them the results they wanted.
When you cut comms with your ops team in the field, it usually means the mission has been abandoned and them with it.

So M4C is just reddit for boomers now? Zero activity in the AR/M4 forums, some active topics that are handgun related. So maybe the solution would be to rename the site pistol-forum…oh wait.
BTW is there more activity in the Rifles/Carbines on the pistol oriented forum than on the place called M4carbine.
Death spiral. Changes drove a handful of active core members away, others saw the reduced activity and got bored and drifted away, more felt same and followed. The SOLGW-Stickman friction was a big nail in the coffin too.
Sadly I see more AR talk on the PSA forum, which we might have been better off to be bought by them.
