vltor vis discontinued?

Is vltor discontinuing their vis? Noveske no longer has any vis builds on their site and I got an email about a blowout sale from another site on them.

The VIS-3 is going to be phased out in favor of the new VIS-KM (Keymod). They should hit the market soon.

Carbine length is staying, or not for long?

Rainier Arms has one in stock. PM sent.

Noveske is who I needed to have it. I have a upper on order with them. I was just curious if production was stopping. Noveske and I reached a solution, though.

Crazy sales going on, but vltor still lists it as orderable on their store?

I thought, from the email, that it was more about another company discontinuing their use of them on some of their offerings or straight-up sales, and not that VLTOR was discontinuing them. Tempting, either way…

(I’m only not naming the ‘other company’ because no one else has and I don’t know the protocol for that here.)

Can you please confirm your source of information that the VIS is being canceled.

Stick, I received this info from a VLTOR dealer. If it’s incorrect, my apologies for posting that.

the standard VIS is not being discontinued at this time and will continue production until the KM model is released, so there will be an overlapping phase. the intention is indeed to phase it out eventually and focus on the KM, but that’s not going to happen anytime soon (it’s frustrating vltor as well).

the obvious question that came to my mind was: how come vltor can continue production on the VIS and not just switch production to the VIS-KM? the answer is that the KM is made on different tooling that doesn’t yet exist, and that’s still in work. the prototype KM’s you’ve seen pictures of were all machined from billet. the production handguard portions will be extrusions.

I am anxious to see some KM accessories, I imagine SHOT will be full of them. Magpul getting on the KM band-wagon would be good for the system.

Thanks for chiming in MM.

Thanks!
KM is neat, but I doubt we see one for many moons.

I think we will, its just a question of how many other manufacturers will beat Vltor to it.

I don’t always wait for years after hearing that a product will be released soon to buy it, but when I do, Surefire and Vltor get my business.

Sitckman that is one of your more clever watermarks.

quite a few, it looks like.

If you ordered it with a vis it will come with it phased out or not noveske is good people - call Sherry she will help you out.

As a fan of the VIS… I say:

No dudes?
