Flock, who keeps making ever smaller claims on their max data storage, just offered to sell Sheboygan, WI the data Flock had stored from the last 5 years.
No matter how âHelpfulâ it might be found to be itâs Anti-American in itâs nature.
A lot of local cities here are cancelling Flock because the cops are getting caught tracking their hooker wives and girlfriends.
Most of Kentucky seems to be going for it against public wishes.
Knoxville,TN/Knox county has been interesting to watch.
The county government and end of term county Mayor Jacobs(aka Kane from pro wrestling) plus just sworn County Mayor Betsy Henderson has shut it down while the sheriffâs office has a whole squad of various deputies charged with various crimes.
Watching from the cheap seats, it appears Knoxville city.gov really, really wants surveillance and is willing to do anything to keep it, such as using the appeal to authority of having their police chief lobby for it.
Or that could be referred to as keeping their chief in place a few days more to justify the need because after the surveillance deal was sealed the chief was suspended for(canât make this shit up) an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate who allegedly has had other in house less than appropriate relationships.
Hookers?
Probably just having fun. Because they can.
Law enforcement officers abusing or otherwise misusing the tools provided them should be disciplined. Talking away the tool from all law enforcement smacks of those who would take away my guns due to the misuse by others.
Mass surveillance is a violation of the 4th and 14th Amendments so of course .gov and troops want to infringe on those rights just like they infringe on the 2A and all while chanting the bogus âpublic safetyâ mantra.
So, youâre pro mass surveillance and also defend Police shooting 50 lb donkeys because it was âcoming right at me!â?
Do you just like to be governed hard and deep?
Are you British?
Yeah weâre gonna part ways on this one Phil. I have ZERO interest in making LEâs job easier, namely when it includes mass surveillance. They have solved crimes just fine all these years, so they can continue to do it the âold-fashionedâ way.
I will mention guns, since this a firearm website. We all know the commies would love to have us disarmed. Scenario: at some future date, the demcoms are in control and they start trying to get people to âturn âem all inâ (you know, once they pack SCOTUS and these current favorable rulings no longer stand), and you decide to play dumb and say âI sold them at a gun show to people I donât knowâ. Well, they can simply pull up data from these Flock cameras, which of course will be perpetually stored in a data center
, retrace your steps for every gun show you claim you went to, and tell you youâre full of shit because your plate was never seen near one of those shows. Now comes the warrant.
Yes, a hypothetical, but it points to exactly why I donât want to live in a surveillance state. I donât want to live in communist China or even Britain. My point is that things we take for granted and which are not illegal now may someday be declared as such and .gov will have a way to prove it. Fvck them.
The surveillance would have been handy as a shirt pocket just 6 years ago.
Exactly the type of scenario I was referring to, obviously not gun-related but an excellent example nonetheless. To quote myself: ââŚthings we take for granted and which are not illegal now may someday be declared as such.â
I always thought everytime the tools advanced it left less chance for corruption but, it simply doesnât always work out that way.
CBI said it launched an investigation into over 1,000 cases in which Woods had some sort of involvement. The agency said it looked at cases from 1994 to 2023, when she was placed on administrative leave and then retired.
According to an arrest affidavit, investigators said Woods intentionally left DNA samples out of tests or reports and sometimes would test samples until the results showed what she wanted. CBI asked the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation to conduct an outside investigation into the case since it involved one of its own employees.
Investigators alleged that Woods deleted some findings of what are called âspecific valuesâ in more than 30 sexual assault cases. She was accused of submitting reports that said no male DNA was found when there was, in fact, male DNA or possible contamination that should have been retested.
And thatâs being done with DNA which is something a little more difficult to pull off some fraud with than some video tape. So some video tape from a Highway camera and a little AI and suddenly youâre Ted Bundy?
Some Magic needs to be left in a Bottle and not opened until later.
About half of all murders and a majority of other violent and property crime go unsolved. Just fine? Having zero interest in bettering the tools for solving crime is the mindset of all criminals.
There have been abuses and those need to be addressed. Iâm all for that. Iâm also for catching more criminals rather than allowing them to prey on more victims.
I understand the eagerness to turn the discussion into a commies are coming fantasy. No thanks.
I might be much more receptive if in order to use the cameraâs a Court Order was required.
So a Judges Name is on every request to turn those things on to record and it has to be tied essentially to what would be a Warrant.
