Surefire SHOT 2011

From CPF:

Lets make the list of proposed new models more accurate then…

R1 “Lawman” (li-ion, selectable, programmable, H/M/L output via dual TailCap & bezel switches, Reflector, 300 lumens)

UAR “Aviator” (li-ion, selectable output via ring & 4FTC, Reflector w/ four secondary LEDs, 500 lumens)

UBR “Invictus” (li-ion, selectable output via ring [same as UB3T] & 4FTC, TIR, 800 lumens)

UNR “Commander” (li-ion, selectable output via ring & 4FTC, TIR, 500 lumens)

The R1, UAR, UBR and UNR are recharged using a plug-in cable into a socket at the neck of the body near the fuel gauge.
They can also be powered by two-SF123As using a “lithium battery magazine”.

UDR “Dominator” (li-ion, 11-setting selector ring, multi-function head switch, Smooth Reflector for extended reach, 2000 lumens)
It is recharged using a plug-in cable into a socket at the neck of the body. There is also a fuel gauge
The UDR can also be powered by twelve-SF123As, presumably in a battery magazine.

Maximus (Headlamp, li-ion, 500 lumens)
Minimus AA (Headlamp, (2AA), 100 lumens)
Minimus Tactical (Headlamp, 100 lumens)
Minimus Vision (Headlamp, warm 80 lumens)

Joining the 6PX & G2X are the proposed Z2X & G2ZX and 6PXD “Defender”

Also proposed is the M6LT (looks like the M3LT bezel, except 800 lumens)

For the ladies there is the proposed “ISIS” light chrome-plated and “appointed with Swarovski crystals”, it has dual-output (100/10 lumens) and is Li-ion powered featuring a touch “reactive tailcap - no pressing, clicking, or twisting”.

Finally Surefire is onboard with lithium-ion rechargeables, and cutting edge CREE emitters.

The new switch looks really interesting.

Hmm…more than a day late and a dollar short on those ‘innovations’, eh?

I’ll be excited when they start using Crees in their everyday lights, such as the 6PL/G2L/Z2L. I have a 6P LED and it is easily outshined by my Z2 with a Cree XP-G drop-in.

F

that’s awesome.

SF always underrates so those numbers are OTF or below. Magnetic selector ring is available on a few other flashlights already, Jetbeam and HDS utilize this. SF does however, have the patent on the dual stage switch, something that many people want…

Personally I want to know more about the X300 compact. If it fits short rail guns like the M&P compact we have a serious contender because all the lights that fit it’s rail (and others like it) use more expensive batteries.

That light was pretty slick the body of it are thinner than a X300 and it used 1 battery. The bezel is just like a Backup. The had one mounted on a pistol with a DevGru switch on it. Cool light.

Any specs on the mini X300 (lumens, runtime)? My guess is somewhat like the M300 Scoutlight.

Cool stuff. Give it a few more years and we might be able to actually buy one. The UDR Dominator is probably an evolution of the vaporware ARC lights.

I thought so at first but it is not an HID light, but rather an LED light.

The only way to get this output from a single emitter is the SST-90, so I can only assume that’s what they’ve used.

So the rumours of a Vampire head for the Surefire Mini Scout aren’t true :frowning:

There is no quality, reliable American made rechagable flashlights that offer the lumen output that these new Surefire offerings have. All of the chinese offerings look good on paper, but the actual product is not suitable for serious use.

If X300 compact is still using 123, Length wise still same?

Should have named it X300 slim. lol:D

True dat, homie! A lot of people fail to realize these things, as well as only looking at the price tag of SF products and rolling their eyes. None of the competitors’ lights have anywhere near the R&D and T&E time that all of Surefire’s products have.

Checkout ITS coverage for a pic on the new X300!!!

Yeah, I have tried out several of the “better quality” chinese made lights with the latest & greatest LED emitter and they all fell short in-terms of their claimed lumen output, and all of them had their tailcap/switches break after minimal real world use by me…

Having said that, lets hope Surefire brings these rechargeables to the market in a timely fashion. The non-release of the “Optimus” last year has me less than optimistic.

Here.

Second row of pics, near the right hand side.
There’s no review; just the photos. Looks like its not quite finished.

On ITS’s Media Day Coverage page, they have a couple photos and a blurb about an XS-designed Glass Assault Tool for the X-series. Holster selection nightmare, though the design looks like it might keep more than a few people from trying to mount or unmount a weapon light from a loaded gun:D.
Here, redux.

EDITED: Too early! Sorry about the double post. Wrong button.

That MVG1 looks to be pretty cool. 2000 lumens out of a weaponlight…

Over 3 pounds for a weaponlight is a little much, though.
