I really believe that at this point we are just getting screwed and need to pull out. NATO was never designed to work with Socialist Leaders in Europe.
They now freel somehow morally superior and I just want to say, we should have dumped this bunch of freeloaders as soon as France saddled us with Viet Nam and then pulled out of NATO, That right there should have been the end of NATO, we should have left and then we should have then pulled out of Viet Nam.
Trump summed it up during his UN speech when he pointed out that NATO members were funding Putinâs war machine with oil and gas purchases. Germany and others laughed in his face. Trump subsequently put sanctions on Nord Stream2 which would have otherwise increased Europeâs dependency on Russia. NATO members funding that which they are committed to defend against⌠sigh⌠NATO is a bad joke at Americaâs expense. Sovereign nations are capable of making decisions that are mutually beneficial without a NATO alliance.
You know I thought about that and âThe MIlitary Industrial Complexâ would only benefit from increased buying from Europeans if we left them to figure it out on their own, so that Boogie Man excuse doesnât work.
NATO left us when they decided to make their primary threat their pirmary energy supplier.
Giving your money to the guys who want to crush you is Darwin Grade Stupid. (See also, our entire consumer goods economy being outsourced to slave-labor prison factories under Chinese military and CCP controlâŚ)
since them its just been us financially supporting European military for no reason. And desite all our oney they are still weak pathetic little euro cucks. Time to cut the losers loose.
But back on topic⌠yes we should cease meaningful participation in NATO. Make deals with Poland and maybe Greece independently and remove all troops, equipment, and bases in other countries wherever possible with the exception of Germany becomause they lost the war so screw them.
While weâre at it we should withdraw from the UN and kick their HQ out of this country.
Ironically I believe the only way for NATO to work is for us to pull out completely and let them sort out their own Defence.
Left to their own devices and knowing that potentially the clock is potentially ticking might mean they get off their collective asses and make some positive changes.
Spain has opened their Borders, which essentially assures a toe hold for Islam.
And itâs looking like we arent selling them ammo
100% the USA should pull out of NATO. No financial support and no American troops. Let;s toss the UN into the mix as well. Eviction notice for the property in New York and not 1 penny in funding. The primary function of the UN is to launder American tax payers money to 3rd world corrupt leaders.
Sucks that no one in office has ever pushed for that.
Oh wait! There was! Well hell would you look at that!
It was one of the guys that conservative republicans hate more than they hate every democrat, openly communistic/socialist flavor that ever lived combined.
Well if thatâs the kind of scum wanting out of nato, the un, the elimination of anti 2A laws, and on and on i reckon we better stay where weâre at.
Europe needed a wake up call and some tough love though.
If we enable them theyâll revert right back to their previous behavior though. Maybe re-visit strong alliances a decade from now if they take their own defense seriously. I doubt they will though.
Well, we didnât need NATO pre WW II (or World War eleven as Omar says) and everything worked out just right. In fact before NATO we had more freedom to debate going to war internally before being committed by Treaty.
So perhaps pulling out of NATO and telling them to give us a call if things get too out of line, but answering that call is up to us.
Post Cold War I donât see a lot of value to the US citizen of NATO. Itâs far more beneficial to Euro-Cucks to prop up their welfare states because US citizens have been paying for their defense.
This is one reason the blockade on Iran is glorious to see. We have a Navy. We can do whatever we want and the rest of the world can suck a bag of dicks. Guess NATO members should have maintained real navies capable of keeping freedom of the seas for their interests. Our interests donât align and there is no need to open the strait of Hormuz for US purposes. If Europe wants oil to flow they can mine sweep and counter Iranian threats to their shipping. Oh wait they canât. Too bad.
No value at all and someone running for POTUS should have mentioned it at the time, they would have had my vote.
The Marshall Plan had itâs time, but after the fall of the USSR, it simply turned in to a Party for Europe where they handed out massive vacations and childcare for their people and did it all on our dime and all while putting massive tariffâs on American imported goods
When the massive debt for that Party came due they took a knee to socialism thinking that would clear their debt .
I wouldnât piss in their mouths if their teeth were on fire.
When the end comes for them and the Muzzies are rounding them up and slaughtering them we should only allow them to come here if they can pay at least $1M US per individual. They should never be allowed citizenship, and be subject to deportation at any time.
Wtf type of logic is this? Maybe WWIII has been avoided this whole time because of NATO? Maybe WWI and WWII would have been prevented if there had been a NATO and no opposition alliance that dare risk fighting it.
What drives this idea that the average citizen needs tangible benefits to justify it? There is a world where we donât fund their entire defense BUT we also remain in the treaty and benefit if they do rebuild their militaries and governments remain on friendly terms.
Well, we could look at Greenland and say, âHey, really wanted to help develop this with you guys, but we will pass and let you dop the development and fund your Armies with the proceeds.â
How quick would they grab the free money for that if they actually had to dig it out of the ground?
Iâm guessing the development of Greenland would die on the vine before they would pick up a shovel.
I would guess we need a tangible infrastructure, perhaps the money would be better spent there?
