"Putting a FRT in your Defensive Rifle?"

Never even heard of that FRT. There are a few “proven” brands out there that has been around for a bit,and work reliably once tuned.
That’s like grabbing some cheap no name new AR manufacturer to prove that AR’s are unreliable and AK’s are the way to go to prove that point. Come on.

OK then, what specific FRT trigger are you referencing when you say: In semi only mode, there are zero problems . …because the FRT isn’t being used. Being on a defensive weapon is irrelevant if using semi-only.

And expensive! Even the days of endless ammo for PD ranges is mostly gone now due to cost of ammo.

Off the top of my head, the ones I have heard of and I have seen used in videos and are preferred by users are ARC Fire and Atrius, which are really just super safety’s, not triggers. Rare Breed was the original trigger, but now has a bad reputation in the gun community because they are suing everyone.

There might be guys here that can weigh in on what they use since I don’t have any installed.

Yea…I couldn’t afford to use it even if I had one.

The first of a zillion Google search results.

My work is done here  If anyone wishes to gaslight themselves on the reliability of FRT for defensive purposes, semi-auto or otherwise… enjoy.

Let’s see a little context. Was it an install issue? A lower compatibility issue? Was it an Arcfire design problem? Like anything that is just installed, you have to test it and check for reliability, regardless of reputation. I can find a slew of google search problems and nay sayers on anything you think is reliable regardless of reputation.

Try and search problems with BCM rifles or KAC rifles, any brand rifle for that matter. You’ll find a bunch. With this reasoning, I guess they are unreliable as a defensive rifle too?

Whatever you want to believe. “Enjoy”.

I don’t “believe” anything. What you are doing is non sensical. A google search for a problem will find a problem. Period.

You’ve told us that you don’t have an FRT nor could afford to use one even if you had one, yet here you are clinging to a semi-auto reliability fantasy that continues to fail scrutiny time after time, Why?

You want more context? Here’s a full explanation of ARCfire function issues in semi-auto. How much more do you require?

Good catch, although this is on their V1 model. They have had the V2 out for awhile now. I could care less if you like it or not or use it. I don’t. Don’t need it.

What I don’t do is poo-poo on something I don’t need or use and know little about.

This guy tries it on a bunch of rifles. Some work great, some don’t. It’s all about compatibility with the lower.

Of course not… you just tell us how flawless FRT is in semi-auto mode. "In semi only mode, there are zero problems . …because the FRT isn’t being used. Being on a defensive weapon is irrelevant if using semi-only."*

Martha, do you hear yourself?

I’ve never seen or heard of a failure in semi, or heard a trend in reporting that this was a known problem to look out for. If it was, it would be pretty mainstream.

Maybe I shouldn’t have said zero problems. Zero put me in a bad spot, I admit that. Nothing is zero. I should have known better than to do that. My bad. What it isn’t though is a common flaw. Anything can happen, so saying “zero” was stupid.
What should have been said, was that once tested. like you should do when changing anything on any defensive weapon, doesn’t really make it any less reliable in semi than without one.

Worth noting they’re REQUIRED to do that under the settlement they got with the Dog Murdering Freakshow in Martinsburg.

If the vid works. This is why FRT. .22lr

Nope. Can’t see the vid, but if it’s of the FRT for the Taurus TX22. That thing is nuts. Something like 1900 rpm. At least it’s affordable though!

A comical video of it:

I have one, and it is fun as fvck. Sadly the AR FRT I have does not work with my .22lr upper.

I will say that depending on what .22lr ammo you are using, it can be very frustrating due to failures to fire. I’ve had batches of .22 which would fail to fire on a fairly regular basis, as often every 10th round failing to go bang. With a 20 round mag you might get through the whole thing, you might have two failures. It isn’t a light primer strike, the ammo just fails to go bang. Not a TX22 or FRT issue. I am not a major 22lr user but I have been made to believe this is not uncommon with rimfire ammunition.

Oh yea. 22lr is finicky. I had my competition Action steel 22lr AR running like a sewing machine with the stock 16” CMMG barrel. I thought I could get a little faster in times by making it lighter using a 4.5” barrel with a 16” aluminum sleeve. That thing won’t run at all now. Tried all kinds of bolt weight changes. I think it is the barrel itself though. The Aguila that would run great in the 16” won’t even go into the chamber more than halfway most of the time. CCI will, but I still get a fail to fire problem every couple rounds. The chamber size seems to be too tight. I haven’t got to shoot action steel for awhile because of this. I might abandon the 4.5” plan and put it back to how it was.

22 would be cool. Most 22s aren’t that reliable in the first place though unless you spring for good ammo. Then you’re back to the financial piece of it.
