You are forgetting the fact that POTUS has nothing to lose. This is his last 4 years. I wouldn’t think a little financial disaster would distract him that much. Remember how it was his team, specifically Billary who said “never let a good crisis go to waste.”?? I am paraphrasing as I don’t remember the actual words. They certainly won’t let a financial crisis go to waste, all the more ammo to make AW, handguns et al, illegal. IMHO anyway.
His party does. As does his reputation as a president. No president wants to go down in history as being one who sneaks controversial stuff through in the last chapters of their tenure.

If Hillary gives it the green light, the Democratic nomination is hers. And I wouldn’t be surprised to see her pick a western governor (like Montana’s Brian Schweitzer, who was term-limited out of office this year but still has very high popularity) as a running mate.
The GOP will look to Jeb Bush, who has the pedigree and the party machine available to him, as well as some appeal to the Hispanic community. Couple that with a minority woman like Condi Rice or Nikki Haley and we’re off to the races.
I’d be surprised if the GOP ran another Bush, personally, but that said, they did run the one guy in the country who signed a government healthcare program into existence against the signer of Obamacare, so I guess stranger things have happened…

Bingo!! I was reading a article the other day about the GOP mulling over another Bush…They haven’t learned have they?? The GOP needs some fresh faces with new ideas, not the same old ideas repackaged with the same old faces mouthing the same old words…It didn’t work this time, it did’nt work in '08…It won’t work in '16 either, They’d better start looking at Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, etc, If the GOP keeps nonminating losers, Well, they’ll keep losing…Long past time for a overhaul of the whole party if you ask me… Of course, it all hinges on weather or not we still have a country left to have elections in, by 2016… That, I’m not entirely sure about…
