If you really want to survive a SHTF event with the Wife/Girl friend and your female tax credits make sure you have a sanitation kit as part of your Bug-Out kit.
Nothing says kill the man of the house like no TP, No Sanitary Napkins, Wet Wipes, Deodorant or a pot to crap in.
Think I’M kidding I would lay cash money the Alfa male will be fragged in less then a week without said items.
I’ll see if I can post a picture of are sanitation kit once the kids relocate the Camera they misplaced.

Moose, the BOW programs are supposed to be quite good for introducing neophyte women to the outdoors. However, I suggest if you do send her to a BOW event, you encourage her to set up her own BOB, and to discuss together certain hardware, supplies etc.
Also, I highly recommend having her check out this forum, which is aimed primarily at women with an interest in preparedness. www.mrssurvival.com
It is a very good site with a ton of useful info, much of which most guys don’t typically prioritize for (seeing as how most male preppers I know are more interested in the hardware aspect, and having stored foods and ammo, and less interested in how to prepare said food, or waht to do with the kids, or Grandma or the neighbors etc 
)
Between the two of you, you should be able to form a good TEAM, capitalizing on each others strengths, and supporting each others weaknesses. This is how my husband and I tend to operate…

I wish my wife would join me. She is “head in the sand, ass in the air” completely. Its going to take “that moment” (which will be too late) for her to see the light. She is far to worried about the day to day with the kids and all that entails.

I took my wife today to sams club to get some goods and she kept going on and on about wasting money! I wish she to like your wife was a little more interested in making sure our family will be ok in such an event. She is more worried about spa pedi/mani and where to meet girls and take kids to lunch play dates!
sounds like im a lucky one. i think its because her brother is a prepper and he actually got me into it. she is 100% supportive of my efforts. even has her own rifle and pistol she practices with. she contributes her own clothes and other items to her bugout bag as well as getting stuff for the dogs. she is counting on me for much of the planning and decision making. with her support we have all the tools we need, now just slowly working on building up food and water supplies. i felt like an idiot when i first started talking to her about it, but she told me it was a great idea and wanted to help.
Don’t give up and keep coming at them with information from the real world which proves why you should have a plan. Woman who live in their own little worlds are the ones who will freak out once the SHTF and will be nothing more than a major liability do to their emotional state.
If the ladies like to spend on Pedi/Mani’s you use the same cash amount for prepping every time she hits the Spa, that way she can’t bitch as she has her nails and you have the guns/ammo/magazines and can goods. Not enough cash to go around for both then I guess she will have to cut back so you can have yours, its only fair.

My wife, who has always loved the outdoors and prepping discovered the BOW program and attended her first weekend last year. Guys, this is a great program for women and a great program over all. She made some fantastic connections that are still paying dividends. Through the program we found out about BOW types of summer camps for kids that are run by the state conservation commission. It’s like I hit the lottery in my house for increasing everyone’s skills with out the hassels of me teaching them.
Then I saw what they were learning and getting out of these programs and I realized something. We (those who posses the XY chromosomes) are getting shafted royally. They are paying pennies on the dollar for what a similar course would cost us.
