I have a T1 I am sending back and the person I spoke to about the RMA took the serial number and told me within a minute if it was real or fake which they do before you can send it in.

Last time I checked with Aimpoint regarding serial numbers, I was told they don’t keep em here in the US. It is stored in Sweden.

How many rounds is the average service life on the BCM BCG’s?

I’ve got a few and wondered what to expect as I don’t think the website says. I’m trying to build up a stock of spare parts as well.

There’s too many variables to answer this with a cut-in-stone number. Depends on the firing schedule, whether the shooter uses lube, etc. But Pat Rogers had one go above 16,400 rounds before it broke (in Filthy 14).

I was selling a T1 on eBay and someone asked for the serial number and to “prove” it wasn’t a Fakepoint.

Upon emailing customer service with Aimpoint, I was told that the serial numbers were in the database in Sweden, but he could look at a picture and verify if it was indeed a authentic T1 (I knew it was).

He verified from the picture that is was authentic and I forwarded his reply to the buyer who ended up being quite happy with it.

But the serial number did me no good with regard to verification.

Even with identical specimens under identical loading conditions fatigue life varies greatly from part to part. Wikipedia has a good article on fatigue.
