You are correct. It was over at TOS… you could only see the “M” in the photo but it looked identical.

I’ve compiled this list of links to show people some items which are currently being counterfeited. There are far more than these pieces of gear being duplicated by our friends in China. If someone is selling an item in these links for way too low, be suspicious. Don’t buy from overseas - try to buy from authorized dealers or at least trustworthy vendors. I’ve seen plenty of “AMERICANS” trying to pass off these very items as the real deal and they get away with it daily. They’re popping up at gun shows. Your friends own them and don’t tell you that they’re knockoffs. The proliferate every aspect of our lives! OK… maybe I’m getting a little overboard - Most fakes that I’ve run across are obviously fake - very few are dead ringers. Know your equipment. Mods, if you think this post is inappropriate, feel free to delete it.

You’d be amazed how much counterfeit crap we get back as “warranty claims”.

We were actually getting XTM hand stops back as warranty claims six months before we officially released it.

Good News: please Do NOT pay these crazy gunbroker/ebay prices on BCGs. I do not think there is any legislation pending to ban BCG production.

I sure hope you’re right Paul. I seen this coming a long time ago and have spent enough on spare parts for my BCM’s and Glocks to buy another AR. I don’t mean to sounds as inciting any more panic than is already out there, if that’s even possible, but with this current bunch I would not be shocked at all to see a ban on the rifles and all components they are composed of. :angry:

Last time I checked with Aimpoint regarding serial numbers, I was told they don’t keep em here in the US. It is stored in Sweden.

The crap is certainly out there.

I got taken for a Troy front BUIS. Found out the hard way it was counterfeit.

BCM just got my order for an authentic one earlier today. I tried to save myself $30 on an accessory for a firearm that costs nearly $2000 complete. Not only did my foolishness cost me a little coin, it wasted my time and pissed me off.

Not going to happen again.

Some stuff are so close and real that the only wayto tell the difference is using partical inspection machines. This was what Knight told me at the SHOT show.

eBay is a damn rip off. Sellers sell shit for nothing and seller fees are ridiculous sold a iPhone 4S and got a $44 dollar bill. If purchasing firearms parts there are a lot of dealers to choose from with good prices… BROWNELLS, midwayusa, Primary arms, BCM, G&R tac. And I know what I’m getting for sure.

I know some of the Eotech and Acog fakes are extremely hard to tell apart from the real ones.

Who cares? We have members here who buy Chinese optics and other inferior crap. Just like the current so-called “gouging” they wouldn’t survive if people wouldn’t buy them.

You should know anyone you spend over $25 on products. It could stop so much panic buying mistakes.

Neither my bolt or bcg say BCM on them. Purchased at least 4 years ago.

So was mine; difference is that folks’re aware that the etched logos became the norm at a later time.

IF you bought it direct from BCM, you have a BCM product and enjoy all the usual assurances and guarantees as a more recently made product WITH the obvious logos.

I order from BCM direct or Brownells to avoid all the bull shit from other dealers and the chance of counterfeit parts. Sometimes trying to save a little coin going by way of a website that claims the part is the real deal ends up being a headache and will cost you more in the end.

This is bananas…but I pretty much assumed this would happen. I’m very skeptical of most online purchases but now I’m moving towards paranoid; if the price it too good please question as to why.
