PA Police Chief Goes A Bit Over The Top At The Range

This is the local news story, sure there is a longer youtube link elsewhere. Don’t need to hear his supposed rant to see he was looking to put on a cool show, one which likely diminishes the integrity of his department.

This was a really bad move. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQakPtOQCJo

Given his position, his conduct is totally unacceptable. Every time the police take one step forward, guys like him set us two steps back. I hope the mayor and city council land on him with both feet.

There are a lot of negative comments about him on PoliceOne.com if you would like to see what police are saying about the incident.

Um, rule three? Especially with tools that have a group therapy setting?

And let’s keep this thread about that specific officer, folks.

ETA - everyone so far has been good folks, let’s keep that high standard.

Couldn’t agree more. In fact I’ll emphasize that this wasn’t posted to bash the police but rather to point out what one shouldn’t do, especially in such a position, to defend our cause.

Wow, that was much worse than I even imagined. What he could possibly have been thinking one can only guess but man was that bad.

I’m honestly sorry for his fellow officers let alone his fellow shooters (us).

Yes, that. This guy needs his walking papers.

I assume that the ATF will be contacting him about the Class 3 weapons that he was shooting in his “private time.”

Yep, no doubt about it. He took a big ol’ dump right in his mess kit.

But I laughed out loud when I watched it.

Chief Kessler’s the man.

Knowing the area where this occurred, and knowing some of the people in the area, I would bet those are legitimate Class III/SBR/AOW items.

Obviously I don’t know for sure, but think it is unlikely that anything shown did not have papers that are in order.

Oh boy:confused::what:

Although I can understand his sentiments, which should have been kept private, this is clearly piss poor judgement. This is way beyond falling on his own sword, this is hacking it off with a meat cleaver. Making a public ass out of himself on youtube, while being in such a trusted position calls for his dismissal.

Agreed. Judgement, community relations, and temperament are critical job qualifiers (amongst many) for a law enforcement officer. This guy seems deficient across the board.

This is pretty much my thought. We all want to rant and rave, and I go to the range sometimes on days when I need to blow off some steam. But I wouldn’t expect to keep my job if I did this and complained about my coworkers using similar language and posted it on youtube. And I’m not a public servant.

How stupid.

That focker kept muzzle sweeping me. Hope the camera was on a tripod - hate to be his “buddy”.

that dude is intense

That guy is a moron.

I tend to think he already knew he was going to get his walking papers after the first video he put out.

He’s not caring what happens due to this second one.

The world is full of dumbasses.

I don’t understand what he was hoping to achieve with this. It seems senselessly sensational.

Dollars to doughnuts he files a wrongful discharge suit as soon as they hand him his walkin’ papers.

Youtube add revenue for this video? Youtube and meme fame? Additional add revenue from future videos?

I am guessing he probably didn’t think that far ahead?
