I just got an NFA delay/denial email on my suppressor purchase from last month. Anyone ever do this UPIN number nightmare?
I had to get my CCW because I kept getting delays on my regular firearms purchases, but they always go through. Now this denial?
Not sure if anyone remembers the Seizure letter I got from the DOJ regarding some guns and cash in St Louis or something that had nothing to do with me. I can only guess that’s what this is related to as I have a clean background.
So farking annoying. I don’t have a common last name. I still go back to that forfeiture notification I got a few years ago.
So annoying that the government’s incompetence becomes my burden. I saw an older youtube on the UPIN process that said at that time, they were 11 months backlogged on this shit.
When I was an Army Recruiter we had to do a National Agency Questionaire. Pretty simple background check unless you have a common name or a name that is common in bad Circles.
Either way it could slow down someone getting a security clearance.
I haven’t as my application is in declined status and already kicked back for the VAF charade. It appears that I’ll need the UPIN in the event that I want to purchase any other NFA item in the future because these wits don’t appear to be able to correct bad info so they just stumble back over it time and time again.
Not an issue for actual gun purchases, but whomever processed my NFA wasn’t clever enough to figure out that whatever is matching my name is not actually me.
If you don’t go the UPIN route before your next one, try the liaison email a few days after submittal.
I’ve never had a denial, but went months without hearing anything back(while other folks got approved in days), but so far the approval has came back within a few days of using the liaison email.
$50 just for the USPS to take digital prints. This fukking shit keeps getting better. I’ve already wasted money with the AZ DPS application fee and my proficiency certification to get a CCW I don’t really need because the retarded Feds. Now another $50 up in smoke.
If you don’t want to make an appt for PrintScan, you can do it yourself and then send it to Hansohn or National Gun Trusts to convert to .eft if you’d rather…
Prints are done. I just wasn’t expecting that ridiculous price. At least the USPS booger brained employees got me handled fairly quickly by their standards. Already got the confirmation email from the Feds that the prints were transmitted fine.
They are actually looking for a guy named, of all things Markm Escobar, names close, only one didgit away in being an exact match to your SSN and address but instead of USA it says Colombia.
As a matter of fact he even looks exactly like you except for the Moustashe.
