It seemed like when Iraqgunz passed away the forum started to go downhill and has never recovered. While the old forum wasn’t perfect I think most members liked it much more than the one we have today.
Sparking up some gun conversation/threads is more productive than making a fuss in this thread. That’s my $.02.

Except for the fact that the “quote tree” is out of whack. M-14Forum also does this…post a reply, it shows up under the post you were quoting, but also shows up a second time later on in the chronological order of things. I am accustomed to the “old” way here where your post shows only when you posted it and shows the post you were quoting above your reply. This new system makes things much more complicated. Sure, it eliminates “quote trees” but is much harder to follow.
I used to post something here almost daily, but this is only my second or third post since the changeover.
I don’t like it, and apparently I’m not alone…

Just look at how many times you read the same reply as you scroll down this thread. It shows up at least twice.
Sorry [not], but the “old” site was superior and easier to follow. This is far too cluttered.

Abnak, I agree. But what else do we got? LF went to shit, TOS is a shit show. Might be M4C amounts to a pair of deuces but I guess I’m all in. It’s literally my only internet thing.
Yep. That’s the problem. There are other good forums for general guns and other stuff, but for carbine related content this is the place.
Well, I can be offline for three days or so, and come back here and get caught up in about ten minutes.
Well if anyone is intent on finding a new home, you can always dogpile by old page.
And that is the first listed “feature”. 
The side slide bar will immediately take you to any part of even the largest thread, and combined with so-called infinite scrolling is better than pages in my experience.
I’m curious if those saying they prefer pages know about the side slide bar? Click on the small post count box [xx/xx] in the bottom right of screen (desk top) and the slide bar will display. Or, if your text is sized less than large, the slide bar will display all the time (below screenshot).
So is this the final look for this site now? Still sucks! Sorry but that’s the way I see it.

Curious that SOLGW website and M4C look similar. Dark background, light text, big block links…
Other than PSA and now SOLGW, what other gunmakers own firearm discussion forums?
They’re the reason the site is trash now.
SOLGW make good rifles, correct?

I just don’t get the new format? But I’m wondering if it because most (some) of us date back to 300 baud modem BB (bulletin Boards) and cassette tape program storage? If you disagree, I challenge you to a Zaxxon challenge.
The board seems set up for phones. Do people under 30 use full computers and screens? I notice the web page version only needs half of a 2560x1440 screen before it starts to ‘squeeze’ things.

I’m a top 10 poster and a bottom 10% content provider, I consider that my stupidity is what lets people shine here. But I find I just spend less time here, post less, and actually get more of my real work done. My boss thanks you.
While being a smartass, I’m not trying to be mean or troll. It’s just that the feng-shwa is off with the forum. Just sayin’.
First time I have logged in here in about a year maybe. I never participated much, just read. This format is something else…uh…anyway, tells me I am a brand new member. Any history I had, again very little, is gone?
I don’t do shit on my phone other than calls, texts, and an occasional Google search for something. No apps, none of that crap. Don’t care if that’s considered “ancient” or not. So be it. I am typing this on my desktop. I am also not married to my phone; I have actually on occasion left the house without it [gasp!]. Now my wife on the other hand…it’s attached via an umbilical cord evidently!
And yes, I’m well over 30yo, like next year will be twice that!

I went to the set up for preferences, I was surprised that there weren’t any options for a ‘reverse’ set up with white screen and black text, or at least something closer. I got the banner to change, but not the main page. Is there something I’m missing?
