Hello to all,
recently while i was home from mid tour leave in Iraq, i managed to pick up a KAC SR-25, and it seems to quite an excellent rifle. i say seems because well, i haven’t actually gotten a chance to fire it, the rifle only came to the dealer two days before i had to go back to Iraq, and i just didn’t have the time. :mad: Its killing me sitting back at home with no one to shoot it but rest assured I will shoot the crap out of this thing when I return. i think it was titleist’s review that pushed me over the edge. i plan to replace the stock with a Magpul ACS, i have already installed the MIAD grip and i think i will mount a S+B short dot on it, but i am open to ideas. Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics, i only had a limited amount of time before i had to leave it for another 5 months
On a side note, i would really like to thank the members of this forum for their vast knowledge base. I have been actively reading this forum for over a year now, really just gaining knowledge. I have not really posted, i do not wish to clutter up informative threads with my nonsense. The forum has really helped me out professionally, as an infantry officer some of this information is vital to have and has put me ahead of my peers on technical knowledge. So i give a heartfelt thank you to everyone here, if it were not for this forum my .308 and 5.56 would likely have been one of those wonderful olympic arms jobs and would not have known the difference until it blew up in my face.

Congrats…that is one asskicking rifle and I certainly would love to have one in my stable one day. When you combine such a high level of actual performance with the KAC sex factor…you get these things called EMC’s.
I can’t imagine buying an EMC or any other complete rifle or premium optic purchase…only to then having to safe it up and not see it again for almost a half yr. I think that is called intestinal fortitude if I’m not mistaken. Once again we see the sacrifices our men and women who serve have to make all the time…huge, and small. Thanks for your service and your time away will only make it that much better when you finally can break away with it for a few real sessions.

I would suggest a Vari-power 1-6/8x for that carbine & or a NF 2.5-10x with a micro-T @ 1-2 O’clock.
In a single optic the utility of the Short-dot 1-8x, with a cat-tail, cannot be beat.

What about putting a Horus Vision Blackbird on it? It goes from 1.5-8x with a 30mm tube and has an H58 reticule which is one of the best on the market. If you contact them directly they give mil personnel a pretty good discount too.

I had’nt really thought about getting a can for this thing until it was brought up here, now i think i’m pretty much sold on the idea. Time to start some research! I have also come to start really considering the NF 2.5-10 optic. Looks pretty good for what i want to do with the weapon, a little more magnification cant hurt. Thanks for all the input guy’s, like you say go big or go home!

First off, thank you for your service and God Speed…I also have a EMC and I’m running the NF 2.5-10x24 w/ the FC2 reticule. while it’s a really nice optic, I’m currently waiting for the S&B Short Dot 1-8. I’m just not as comfortable when running the rifle up close from target to target on 2.5 power after being so used to RDS optics. As far as the Suppressor goes, I had the opportunity to shoot the new ones KAC has been working on and they’re definitely worth waiting for.
