Disregard.
I didn’t see an update anywhere about this gun, but I ran across it on bud’s and it’s finally in stock if anyone wants to be one of the first…

Not a bad price.
Just got one in. Very nice and from the range reports I’m hearing it will run on even cheap ammo.
I’ve been waiting to hear more on this. So far sounds good. And as I understand it all the threaded extensions for the Walther pistols will fit on this one?
When I spoke with the S&W rep at SHOT he said the safety was a requirement for Walther to make them.
I love the idea of cheaper training but if it doesn’t fit the same as my regular gun and the trigger doesn’t feel the same I am not sure that it is worth it. I would rather have a conversion kit.
Agreed, I think that if we’re patient someone will wake up and make a conversion kit.
Agreed. I’m going to wait for a kit.
If it’s an imported pistol, being .22cal, having a manual safety might be what gives it enough import points vs. without it.
Forgot to mention, the rep said that the safety was easily removed. I am not sure if it would take the same plug that the big ones take but you could at least remove it.
As I am deployed right now I wont need it for a while. I will just keep holding out for someone to make a quality conversion.
I always wondered how Glock did it. I guess that was the reason for the finger grooves on the Gen 3’s?
and thumb rests, makes it a target grip, they also come with adjustable sights, which get removed here in the US, at least teh little guns.
As for the MP22, I’m in, as soon as I see one, of might order one.

Yea, they sold out fast at bud’s. I posted that they were in stock before work and was going to place an order that night, but they were sold out.
When I first saw that they were in stock I think there were 10. Hopefully someone who snagged one will give us a range report.
It is the reason G25 and G28s can’t be imported for commercial sales. Just because it is a .380 instead of 9x19mm it doesn’t get enough import points.
All Glocks are imported with plastic adjustable “target” sights & the small ones have serrated “target” triggers. You can see how the BATF point system works in the link.
My local shop got in four of them on Friday. I didn’t fire it, but compared to the Advantage Arms .22 conversion for Glock, it feels cheap. The safety is cheesy - it rotates instead of flipping up and down like the full-size gun.
Umarex should get their shit together - they could whip everyone’s ass at the .22 trainer game if they cared to. I bought an M&P15/22 on Thursday after looking at ALL the .22 AR-types out there, and it makes the Umarex guns look like overcomplicated toy shit. Plus it works like an AR is supposed to.
Well…I just had my first experience holding one today. Hope this isnt a sign of whats to come from S&W’s QC.

S&W does not make it (FYI).

Bummer on that backwards front sight. Nevertheless, I’m definitely going to get one for use as a range toy & new shooter trainer.
Edit: Grant, are you planning to get any of them in?
They may not make it but they’ve put their name on it. They could at least examine what’s going out the door.
That said I Really, I mean really, want this gun to work. I’d love one.
