Glock Gen4 22 question

I am looking for some feedback on recent production gen4 22’s, I have tried searching the site but it was pretty dated information. Do the 22’s have the same issues that the 17’s and 19’s have in regards to extraction and mlafunctions? Any info is appreciated

No.It appears that the changes Glock made to the Gen4s was geared towards the 40 S&W models. My Gen4 G22 has a little over 1000 rounds through it now without a single malfunction.

At first it would eject brass in every direction but Robb installed the new “unmarked” ejector in it and not its perfect ejection at the 4 o’clock position.

Not only does it run like a top but there is very little recoil (more of push) so it shoots flat and is laser accurate. This is by far the most accurate Glock I own…and I own a bunch!

The Gen4 G22 is quickly becoming my favorite Glock. I’m planning on picking up a Gen4 G23 for concealed carry.

No malfunctions of any kind with my gen 4 G27 or 23. I think the .40’s have been GTG from the start.

thanks guys, i appreciate the info, M4arc, is the unmarked ejector that is installed in your 22 the standard ejector on the current production 22’s?

I don’t know for sure but Robb said it was the most recent. It never malfunctioned with the old ejector but it did spit brass every where. Now it’s good to go.

My gen4 23 purchased in november last year will occasionaly ricochet brass off my glasses or forehead. I am currently waiting for my armorer to get the new ejector in for my gun. Besides the erratic ejection it has been flawless in functionality.

M4arc. im guessing the old ejectors that came in the gen4 22’s were the 336, so as long as the ejector is not marked 336 im assuming it is the most recent one and therfore good to go.

Viper that sucks i had a early 2011 gen 3 19 and gen 3 17 that would throw brass back in my face frequently which i why i sold them.

336 is the 9mm Gen 3 Ejector Part number. The .40’s have a different Ejector.

I think the 336 ejector is for the 9mm models. I don’t know what mine had in it when I bought because Robb swapped it out at the shop and installed my old one in his gun until they received more ejectors from Glock. I didn’t pay attention to what was in there initially but I’ll ask Robb to weight in so you know what to look for.

Yea i think you guys are right on the ejector not being a 336. M4arc, if you could get Robb to weigh in that would be much appreciated. Thank you

I sent him a PM. He’s probably shooting today.

The old 9mm ejector is marked “336”, the new one is marked “30274”.

The old .40/.357 ejector is marked “1882” the new Gen 4 ones aren’t marked with a number.
The Gen 4 .40s with the older ejectors sometimes have ejection problems causing stoppages but at much lower rates vs. Gen 4 9mms with old ejectors. The new ejectors make for much better consistent ejection.

The Gen 4 ejectors with work in older guns too I use the new 9mm 30274 ejectors in my 2 - GEN 2 19s and Gen 2 17. The 19s used to spit brass in my face a lot.

I purchased a G22G4 that had a 11/2011 test fire date. It had the “1882” ejector and had serious issues with horizontal stovepipes, slide-over-base stoppages, and would pelt me in the face with brass repeatedly. I was able to put a new .40 ejector in my G22 and it has been flawless ever since. My brass is now ejecting very consistently and makes a small, neat pile.

I also recenetly purchased a G22G4 with a 03/2012 test fire date and it came with the newest ejector and recoil spring. My advice would be to make sure it’s got the new ejector and latest RSA before buying.

Doughnut, what is the latest RSA?

M4arc,
As far as I know the RSA labeled 0-4-1 is the latest for the G22, but I’m not an armorer and that was as of the 09/2011 RSA chart/RSA exchange program, so it’s possible Glock may have released another one by now.

To M4arc,
You might want to consider a gen 3 for CCW, or maybe rub some 2000 grit sandpaper over the handle. We have the Compact gen 4s issued and I hate carrying it while working plain clothes. You have to wear an undershirt so the handle doesn’t eat your side up. The handle also makes nice fuzzy things on your shirt right before it tears a hole in it. I also have the extractor issue with mine. About two out of 13 rds will fly directly at my head. I do love my Glocks, gen 3s that is…

My new FDE Glock 22Gen4 has the 0 4 1 RSA and the ejector is marked 28926. Anyone know if this is a newer ejector? I havent been able to shoot it yet to see how it runs.

I checked mine and its the 0-4-1 RSA too. Thanks.

Crow, seee Robb’s post abover; the latest ejectors aren’t numbered.

He said the old ones were marked 1882 and the latest were unmaked mine is neither so it is either older or newer than the unmarked. This Gen4 22 casing was fired March 2012 cant remember the exact day right now but still this is a new pistol.

Hell with all this changes to the Glock .40 ejector how can everyone know what works or is the new design fad by Glock.

Now don’t get me wrong I’M a die hard Glock owner and shoot/carry nothing else but its starting to get ridiculous with all the monthly charges to parts that even Glock warranty employee’s can’t keep track of.

Thats why I only will own late 2nd Gen and one or two early third Gen Glock Pistols as they have been perfect all these years without all the new Gen issues.
