First Post here - LMT MRP & MWS guy

LMT has said the 300BLK barrels won’t come out until there is sufficient commercial ammo for testing. So conversion remains the only option for now. Love my Noveske 10.5" 300FB within 300BLK spec. May put on an adjustible gas block as Todd said the gas port is too large to take full advantage of supers (my pre 300BLK barrel will be over gassed with supers). 762-SDN-6s have shipped and I am waiting for mine! Check out the Effeto Mariposa wrench storage option below. I think its ideal as it tops out at 141 so no chance you break a bolt… also just look at the thing… art. Barrel pic below is old but have 8 for the 2 MRP CQB uppers and 2 for the MWS (308 & Noveske 6.5 Creedmoor). Planning to convert an 18" mid gas 6.5PCC (223 parent case wildcat that will share projectiles with the Creedmoor).

Nice! What is the 2nd barrel from the bottom? It looks like it has a Noveske Switchblock.

It is a standard 12" LMT Piston barrel group with block in the mid position. Look at the missing gas key on the carrier. MRP CQBs will fit Noveske switch blocks on mid length barrels though as they will be exposed just like on the LMT Piston barrel groups. I plan to get one on an 18" mid gas 6.5PCC wildcat.

Nice, Which scope is that on the MWS?? I have been looking hard at Leupold or NF for mine.

Thanks. Bushnell ELITE 4200 6-24X50 (426245F). Its front focal mil/mil but does not have zero stops so I made a physical one. I think it cost me about $750 + shipping which is probably about half of a NF but certainly would not advise against one of those. I do think mil adjustment and front focal plane are the way to go. In addition to the lack of a zero stop this scope does not have much elevation adjustment but fortunately I have it in a Larue 50bmg mount with 30moa built in. If I remember correctly I think I have 14 mils of elevation from my 100 yard zero with the 6.5 Creedmoor barrel installed. Another cool thing about MRP/MWS monolithic rails is that you don’t need cantilevered mounts and can use rings without any issue.

I did not even notice the spring on the piston rod the first time I looked at it. Thanks

Spikes 22lr conversion and barrel. Cool to be able to run 22lr in the same setup / weight / trigger as your go to gun without running 22lr though your primary barrel. Locks back on last round but drops when you pull the empty. Have to check if the cmmg fix to keep it back and drop bolt on next mag will work with this.

Very Nice!

May I ask exactly what model the Effeto Mariposa wrench is and where you bought it? I did a quick google search and found a lot of places with many different models. Any good gouge on where to pick one up?

You’ve got me thinking now with the ever rising cost of rising ammo. Burn a ton of 22lr, pull out the wrench change the rifle back to its fighting configuration verify zero before going home and call it a day!

This is a Kestrel bikes branded “Pro” model that comes with a free $50 re-calibration (they suggest after 5000 clicks / torque jobs). With the store wide discount coupon it was $190 shipped and included 2 water bottles. You can get a basic black model without bits for $150 + shipping from another seller.

Trident is gonna wet his pants when he sees this thread.

I’ve got the very same conversion and they run flawlessly!Nice setup!

Current barrel line up with only the MWS 16" CL 308 missing. All gas blocks pinned. Picked up several of these used.

20" SS Noveske 6.5 Creedmoor - rifle gas - no muzzle devise (converted by DBMG and threads removed)
18" SS LMT 556 - mid gas - FSC556 comp
16" CL LMT 556 - mid gas - A2 hider
14.5" SS LMT 6.8 SPCII - carbine gas - vortex hider (cut down from 18", reamed to spcII, turned down, & coated black by ADCO)
14.5" CL LMT 556 - carbine gas - FSC556 comp
12" CL LMT 556 - mid piston - AAC 51T hider
12.5" CL LMT 6.8 SPC - carbine gas - Vltor A2
10.5" SS Noveske 300FB - pistol gas - waiting for AAC 51T hider (converted by DBMG)
11.5" Spikes 22lr - blow back - AAC 51T break

Thanks for the tip on the wrench. You have quite an enviable collection of barrels there! I have to ask, what is your impression of the work done by DBMG? I’ve been considering a SS Noveske Barrel to make an SPR out of my MRP but I’ve seen other post by Trident saying that the LMT SS 16 inch is the best barrel he has ever shot. I would have to get it bead blasted or refinished but it would still be less than the Noveske I guess. I know ADCO bead blasts for lke 15 bucks.

Last question…for now. I didn’t see the 22lr MRP barrels at Spikes. Does anybody know if they still make/sell these. I emailed them but no reply yet.

I’ve known Jason for some time back when I had to take the short bus to school occasionally and danced with that pink scooter(barfcom)

Nice to see you join up over here, great collection:)

Good to see you. May have said it before but after the planned 6.5PCC wildcat I think I’m done. Just need the AAC 762-SDN-6 to show up so I can run it up and down the line up.

No problem. I have been totally satisfied with DBMG’s work. Just remember that no gas tube retainer is added to the chamber end so you have to be more careful with them. Might be hard to justify the premium to convert a Noveske 556 vs price on an SS from LMT… its an easier decision in 308 because LMT is charging $700 for those and you are close to the same total price with a conversion. Conversions also make sense for 6.8 because LMT is sticking with the old specs. A mid gas Noveske 6.8 with factory switch block would be a fun but expensive proposition. Also remember that you could convert anything… possibly a Kreiger.

I just got that wrench from commuter bike store its awsome no regets what so ever.

Hitting steel at 50 w/ subsonic 175s and Nexus III 45 pistol can standing in (can’t wait for 762-SDN-6).

Just put an PRI adjustable gas block on my Noveske 300BLK and the adjustment is perfectly accessible without removing the barrel (lucky). I plan to shut gas off for fast powder ultra quiet single shots (that won’t cycle fully anyway) and open it fully to cycle slower powder subs. Could also tune for best balance for supers but that is not my plan for this barrel. Might file on the block a bit as it looks like it barely touches the upper.

Won’t get a chance to try it until next weekend.

Any thoughts on PRI vs JP adjustable gas blocks? Are there any others out there?
