Ben Carson Spanks Obama at Prayer Breakfast

Well, Obama will need some ointment after being bent over a barrel by Dr. Ben Carson yesterday at the prayer breakfast. For those of you not familiar with Dr. Carson, he is an internationally renown neurosurgeon who climed from urban poverty to lead The Department of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins. He has been a rock star in the medical community for some time and a great public speaker.

In his speech, he tackled political correctness, our tax system, healthcare, national debt, etc. Each of his positions were the exact opposite of Obama’s, and all our leader could do was sit there and smile.

As I type this I bet Valerie Jarrett is frantically trying to drum up some hookers who will claim that Dr. Carson molested them in his office.

Watched the imbedded CSPAN video on the page. POTUS’s body language throughout the speech is interesting. Great stuff there for analysis.

Fixed.

Great speech.

I saw this last night on TV - it was superb

His words were pure gold on this one. Great stuff.

This came up yesterday in another thread and I watched it thanks to a link that feedramp posted in that thread. In that thread, I posted and will repeat here:

Thank you for posting this. I most likely would not have seen it otherwise. A very worthwhile 27 minutes and 32 seconds indeed. That man (Dr. Benjamin Carson) is a great leader. We need more like him.

If you watch the left side of the screen closely, you will see Michelle Obama clapping for many of the remarks being said when Barack was not.

…and the liberal media ignores it

Watching Fox and Friends this morning and they mentioned him quite a bit and he is showing up for a show tomorrow

That was freaking AWESOME!!

Too bad obama and his cronies probably label him an “Uncle Tom”.

They will never celebrate his life and achievements during Black History Month because he is a perfect example of what hard work and perseverance can achieve. He is the antithesis of welfare programs.

If I ever meet Dr. Carson, I would like to shake his hand.

It was a great thing. Such well spoken common sense makes you desperately wonder why more like him don’t have higher positions in this country. Black, white, whatever. We have idiots calling the shots now and it’s terrible.

Between remarks of Carson and Panetta … Obama got some ‘splainin’ to do.

Tuesday’s SOTU address should be interesting. I’m guessing we will be told the economy is great and we don’t need guns.

I’m glad someone respectable is finally speaking out to expose him.

Awesome speech!

Lots of wisdom and powerful insight there. And it’s really not just about/against Obama, it’s about the entire shift of our culture away from (even basic, really) education, personal responsibility, creativity, and initiative and into the realm of political correctness and letting ‘everyone else’ take care of you at the lowest common denominator and the highest cost, both financially and personally. We’re (as a nation) accepting ‘homogenization’ disguised as ‘equality.’

Great speach from a great person. May it will resonate to more coming from an esteemed doctor.

Watched it and had to say it was great to see someone stand up finally !

Great talk with him on Hannity also

Here is the Hannity link:

I really liked the video, he’s very good at making these points as a public speaker, and he can back it up as his foundation has done a ton of good work. He came from absolute poverty and with nothing but intelligence and hard work became who he is today. He’s an impressive guy to have on our side of the issues he touched on in this speech.

Edited because it doesn’t matter and this isn’t the place.

thopkins22 - that may be the case in person to some people ; some people who meet me absolutely think I am a ‘dick’ and arrogant ; I hate to say it but self confidence - a very large dose of it - will always come across as being a ‘dick’ to some people ; people who have not achieved that same thing in their lives - frankly I don’t hold that against him at all; I just understand and respect it

In my case yes I have a serious ego and a lot of self confidence that no doubt offends some people - I understand it but I am certainly not going to apologize for it

I really liked what he had to say on Hannity and I found it a breath of fresh air - until proven wrong I like and respect him; even if he is a bit of a dick in person

He’s definitely a breath of fresh air, and a tremendous public speaker who can put forth great ideas in a way that is palatable to people of all political ideologies. I applaud him and hope he never holds his tongue, people like him are an asset. I respect him and what he’s accomplished and what he no doubt will continue to accomplish.

I’m not put off by ego, self-confidence, or righteous cockiness. I’ve met people who have all three and I believe that generally people who reach the pinnacle of a field get there as a function of having all three. For what it’s worth, you’ve never come off as a dick to me.

I guess what I was trying to say is that there are aspects of Dr. Carson that I wish I could instill in my own children(and myself,) but I wouldn’t want them to be a carbon copy. I’m having trouble adequately expressing the feeling that led to my initial comment(which no doubt means I shouldn’t have made it.)

ETA:Based on what I know of him I’d vote for him in a heartbeat. He’s likely too honest and too qualified to ever consider public office though. Pending knowledge of a few other issues of course, such as the second amendment and energy policy.

Great video. Good on him for doing so.

There are very few Neurosurgeons I’ve met who don’t have a large ego. Actually there are few people who have reached the pinnacle of any field who are not cocky to some degree. I think self assurance is part of the ethos that helps one overachieve.
