Anybody having trouble finding ammo?

I have been looking for 223 or 556 brass ammo but it is getting harder to find and osama hasnt even talked about a gun ban yet. I did find some american eagle for 10.00 per box but that sounds kinda high.

I would definately buy the AE for $10. Here where I live in Texas, Remington .223, 55gr PSP is $18 per box of 20. I was lucky enough to find a 500 round bulk pack at a gun show for $225 and a buddy that runs a pawn shop that sells some nice guns as well found me a 1000 round bulk pack of Federal .223 55gr FMJ for $450. That gives me 1500 rounds for storage. Now I can buy five of the $18 boxes if I want to go hog hunting and leave the others for those rainy days that could be coming. Yeah it is a bit expensive that way, but more fun than an amusement park and I get to shoot my gun and put some wild pork in the freezer.

Roadking, if you find any, i hope you will post and let us know.

I am in ohio were are you at. But yes i will post when i find some. I only buy brass for my AR.

ammo is tight. Primers are impossible. Grafs, Midsouth, lockstock, Midway not a small rifle primer in the place. I am not sure there is a large rifle primer in stock either, but one of them had some BR-2. Powder is just damn near as bad, can’t find RL15 or Varget anywhere. No Hornady or Sierra 69 or 68 match bullets. This fucking sucks.

My local Cabelas has had a constant supply of 1000 round boxes of XM193 for $399.

nothing around my parts either:(

I just got 1000 rds from here for $402: http://www.the-armory.com. Their stock seems to be renewed regularly.

They did not seem to have anything now. If they do some in, would you let us know?

I posted elsewhere but ordered 1000 rounds of Wolf delivered for 319.00 from Cabelas 3 nights ago.

My local Walmart has been out of pretty much anything other than shotgun shells and .22LR for sometime. I have occasionally seen a box of 7.62x39 and that’s about it. Our Sportsman’s Warehouse is the same. No .223, no 7.62x39, no .308, no .22, no 9mm, no .40S&W, no .45ACP, no .38SPL, no .357Mag, nothing. They have taken to stocking other items where the ammo USED to be. They had a little .30-06, some .22-250 and shotgun shells. Their firearm inventory is obvioulsy reduced too. Given their prices I have to assume they aren’t ordering as much, or are having a hard time getting inventory in. They did have Lancer mags though, for the lowly sum of $30 each…

My local shop has had some .223/5.56 off and on, but I have grown fairly attached to both of my kidneys, legs, arms, etc. And therefore haven’t gotten desperate enought to trade one of my body parts to them for a hundred or so rounds!

Just make a list of 5 or 6 places and check them daily. Ammo is out there, it’s coming in, and you can buy it. It just doesn’t stay on the shelf long, so you have to check often.

Corrected your thread title.

I cannot believe how dry the ammo world has become! :frowning:

Buckaroo

I haven’t had the best time finding ammo, but not a terrible time. I can still get some black hills at my local gunstore(I’m sure it helps that I live in the town Black Hills Ammo resides) and I was able to pick up some xm193 for about .40 a round this week. Basically I had to forget about ordering it and instead look for local sources. I can find most of what I need, although at less than stellar prices sometimes.

The Hudson Valley/CT is pretty dry, but what I have noticed more then anything is insane price gauging at the places that do have ammo. My fiance and I did the math and we’re talking in some cases a 50%+ inflation rate. What use to be $20 is now 30, an 80 dollar half case is now $179 ext.

There is one shop that does online sales. I thought they would raise their ammo prices, but they haven’t. I was there yesterday to see if they had gauged their ammo like they did their magazines, and they hadn’t raised anything too much. They were a little lower then normal, but I get the feeling these guys stocked up for this occasion and will have ammo for some time:

Showing PMC 55gr FMJBT ammo in-stock right now.

500 rds - $235
1000 rds - $449

I’m not that desperate for ammo to pay that price for underpressured PMC. I’ve found The Armory’s prices to be a little high, even given the current situation. I’ve placed one order with them and the shipping cost seemed a little excessive as well.

ETA: Strangely, their prices for .308 seem to be more reasonable.

It seems a little high to me too, but people were asking where ammo could be found…

Nothing against you, just making an observation. I ordered a 200 round pack of 5.56 from them awhile back and I think they charged me $16-18 shipping for it, where the same thing from Natchez cost me like $10-11, they’re in VA, Natchez is in TN, both shipments were going across the country.
