I will look at the 68 grain +p 9mm load.
I think the 68 grain will give me the 2000fps, I am seeking. I watched a video where a guy was getting 1950fps out of a Glock 19 with a 4.5" barrel. I now have a 6" barrel that will go into my Glock 34 .
If I can get 2000fps out of a 9mm, and it does well on hogs then that is a winning round.
That’s getting pretty close to 5.56 SBR numbers. Would be interesting to see what the perm cavity looks like on a hog.
Which supply issues? Your concept has me looking at 357 SIG conversion barrels.
I have thought that a subgun in .30 carbine might be effective. High capacity, serious cartridge and effective out to 100m. ?
I don’t think it’s possible from a 9mm package. Even if you came close to that with a 9mm +P or +P+ with the light 65-68gr bullets will you get the penetration you are looking for? The velocity will be juiced up no doubt, but the physics of the weight vs length ratio (I forget what it is called) would seem to me to indicate lower-than-optimal penetration. Not sure if a FMJ template would work better or not.
If .35 caliber is key, 350 Legend might be the best combination of AR fit, power and cost. Or try 300 BO, which is designed for shorter barrels. In any case, straight blowback can only handle so much chamber pressure, unless you use something to delay the blowback, like HK roller locking.

Underwood say 2100 fps out of Glock 31, I am going to be going with my Glock 35 with 5.85 inch threaded barrel.
I cant wait to get this ammo out to shoot hogs with friends. If it performs as I believe it will, then the Glock 35 will get a Leupold Delta Micro installed and become my carry gun. I then will get on the waiting list for a 357 sig upper with an 8 inch barrel. This will be matted to a CMMG Glock lower. I then will have the perfect duo for carry pistol and truck gun. All mags will be the same and this should work very well out to 150 meters. I don’t think as a civilian I will ever need longer than that and I put needing distance past 75 meters as like almost never in civilian situations in the USA.
Norma has something similar, a little slower (no barrel length spec) but not +P.

Do you mind if I ask where you are thinking about getting one of those uppers from? Are you talking for a Glock pistol or for an AR-ish upper? (i.e. a carbine)
Why no .357 barrel for a Beretta 92? Never saw one, anyway.
And I’m sure a magazine design could get more rounds in them than factory 11-round .40 mags.
Yes on the .40 mags. Mec-Gar makes 13rd flush fit and 15rd with an extended baseplate. I’m not sure about .357 Sig, but believe it might beat the pistol up more than .40, and that is the reason for lack of barrels.

The upper I am looking for is for the AR, they are hard to find. One guy in Michigan makes a DI in 357sig, but he is so back logged he isn’t taking any orders.
Most people are trying to say any type of blow back AR can’t handle the 357sig long term

What about a pistol carbine conversion kit with added barrel length? They may a bunch of them for Glocks usually. That might get you up and running quickly to at least do some of the testing you want to do. Various pics:

I don’t know if they’re any good or just range toys, but I’m assuming are decent at least.
Rebarreling a .40 S&W CMMG Banshee seems feasible. Its probably technically possible to line a .40 barrel or re-chamber a 9mm.

I am not a fan.
I have moved ahead with my Glock 35, on order is 357 sig Underwood ammo and a KKM glock 24 conversion barrel to 357 sig. So I will have a clone of my Glock 34 with 6 inch barrel in 357 sig with a 6 inch barrel.
I also dislike pistol conversions. The ergonomics always feel wrong unless it has a ridiculous LOP, and I don’t like the idea of a long gun without a safety.
What gen Glock are you using?
Never shot one, just seemed a quick way to get a .357 Sig barreled PCC kinda set up quickly. I think some of those conversions kits even offer the extended barrel for Glocks usually. No doubt a dedicated designed and built PCC is the way to go if one can find it in the caliber they want.
