Zero with a LaRue mount?

I mounted a 512 on a LaRue mount and it is shooting about 8" high at 25 meters. Is there an elevation adjustment other than the main click screws?

At what distance should I be zeroing the sight at?

Thanks

I find a 50yds POA/POI best for ARs. You can start at 25yds, adjust your POI to be 1.5" lower than your POA then move out to 50yds and check and re-adjust if necessary to get POA/POI.

This gives you a very nice flat trajectory out to 200-220yds (depending on particular gun) so that from 0 to 200yds your POI is never more than 2" off of your POA.

Agree with GotM4. A 50yrd zero is best.

Ok, 50 yrds… So am I making an 8" adjustment with the elevation screw? Is there that much movement there?

Yes.

The reason it’s hitting so high is because your Eotech is now .275" higher than it was when on the reciever or rail.

The reason it is hitting higher, is because the bullet is still on a upward trajectory.

If you are dead on with a 25 m zero, you POI should be about a shade over 2 MOA difference.

Most use a 25m zero, for the reason that the 5.56 round will intersect the bore line at 25m and 300 m. So If I read you post right, out of the box you need to adjust 8" to achieve a 25 m BZO with your EOTech ?>?

Just out of curiosity, what kind of ammo are you using ?

It was Remington UMC 55 gr ammo. Range ammo.

And you are reading that correct. The sight was never used prior to the range session. New from the box onto a LaRue ECOS-C. It was printing a nice group about 3" left and 8" high.

I am going to retry this this week from a more stable rest and see what I come-up with. By the way, the ARMS BUIS was almost dead-on from the box (Stag 2H upper). I also need to zero my LaRue BUIS.
