Your lucky day for an AR!

This is posted just to figure out what everyone would get if they only had 1 choice. Someone(Obama, Ha!) is going to buy you an AR. A commercially available model. THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY AR.

What do you choose to get? Would like to see what people would choose if they have to rely on one commercial model. Please give manufacturer and model #.

I feel this question is quite informative on many levels. If you’d like, what mag would you choose and why? The whole point of this is to let others know what and why you think the way you do. This info. can help others in their way of thinking and their understanding of the AR.

Can I turn right around and sell it?

You can’t be a Democrat with that kind of attitude! I salute you! Spoken like a true capitalist. Yes, you can sell it. To me for $50.

The one I have right now, the only one I will ever own, and the one I will maintain most likely until the day I die.

I understand the thrill of buying new stuff, but unless I destroy mine, I wont be purchasing another.

The Golden Standard of AR’s for the longest time has been the Colt 6920 so I would say that is a good choice. Nothing wrong with good quality USGI mags either.

Since I don’t drink the Colt Koolaid (no offense given your SN ) I use BCM and LMT uppers with LMT and Noveske lowers.

All fed by Pmags of course!

If I had to pic one it would be a tie between my BCM Middie on a Noveske lower or my BCM 11.5 on a Noveske lower with Pmags.

Without a doubt, mine would be:

Charles Daly Defense D-M4LED Carbine. But… do I get to choose the accessories as well? There are no optic aids on here, and geeze… there are lights, vert grip, and more that would need added to that bill. What about ammo!!! While dreaming, can I get a pallet of XM193 so as to last me 10 years?

this feels like a question i would see on a final or the ACT.

Two choices. Colt 6920, Noveske N4 Recce Basic.

That’s easy, the one I own - an LE6920.

I’d stick with my 6721 and not accept a gift from anyone that could possible have puppet strings attached;)

It’s my personality, I rate a government computer but I refused it and bought my own.

Naturally, I have puppet strings attached with my mortgage…so maybe my thinking is screwed up…:frowning:

Reality based answer? It’s the government…what the hell makes you think you’d get quality?

We’d all be given a used Olympic, five rounds(three duds,) and a broken magazine that somehow cost $200. All after standing in line for six continuous days with a 1700 page application(failure to be 100% accurate will no doubt be a felony.)

Assuming I could buy accessories, I’d pick an LMT CQB MRP (DI) as an only AR because it’s so easily customizable.

  • Quick-change barrels available in 6.8, .22LR, and various lengths of 5.56 (maybe others too) and the BCGs to go with them. I can change the barrels out myself without needing special tools and expertise.

  • All rail-mounted sights mean I can play around with different irons and optics without ever needing to remove/replace an FSB or gas block. Again, a convenience for non-armorer me, if I were to have only one AR.

  • If I felt the urge, I could convert it to a piston gun and back again.

If I couldn’t buy any accessories beyond what I spec’d on the gun initially, I’d take a Colt 6920 with a flip rear sight and an Aimpoint.

I’d probably go with a do it all type that can be handled in the short distance and can still reach way out to long distance if need be. Something like a Sabre in 6.5 grendel and add in some reloading equipment to go along with it.
