Hey guys, got a quick question about a Remington 700 LTR with a 20" fluted barrel. I got a guy at work who wants to trade his 700 for my Sig P226 w/rail & STR, along with a Colt Govt. profile barrel 16" 1/7 twist. Is this a worth while trade? I did several searches and can’t find much info regarding prices for this rifle. What do you guys think? I don’t have much experience with bolt guns any insight would be greatly appreciated. After a few minutes of honing my google fu I found the MSRP from Rem. to be around $1,100.00 and found one for sale used on this forum for $900.00(neither with the fluted barrel)
The Sigs look to be in the $800.00- $900.00 range new and I found several on different sites fro $500.00- $600.00 used.
Does the trade rifle have any mods? Optics base? Bottom metal? Etc.
Personally, I’d say it’s decent trade, but that would really depend on how attached you are to your Sig and whether you had plans for the Colt barrel wouldn’t it.
