worth the change

Ok, I mainly need someone to talk me out of it.

I currently carry and use a Glock 23 (own two). I’m setup for .40sw Glocks with 5 spare mags and 1500 rounds of .40. Lately I’ve had a bug to swtich to the Glock 19 as it will allow me to be a little more accurate as well as cheaper ammo without much degrade in performance?

Mainly, would it be worth the initial expense to switch from .40sw to 9mm?

You have the option to just get a Lonewolf conversion barrel and a 9mm magazine. With that you can easily convert your Glock 23 to the cheaper 9mm cartridge for range work and switch back to .40 SW anytime you want.

Any reason you can’t own more than one handgun caliber?

OCD I guess

C’mon man. Loosen up! You need at least one each, or more, in .22 mag, .380, .38 spc., .38 super, 9 mm, .357, .357 sig .40, 10 mm, .45 acp, .460.
Seriously, how the hell did you decide on just one caliber?

(cost of G19 setup) - (resale value of G23 setup)
----------------------------------------------------------- = tipping point
difference in price between a box of 9mm and .40

Let’s suppose you lose $200 making the switch, and 9mm is $4/bx cheaper. You’ll break even at 50 boxes (2,500 rounds).

The switch to 9mm from others is popular, for the reasons you state.

I’d pass on the conversion kits.

I recently went the other way… 9mms –> .40s
