Is there a way to tell if a WMX200 is real or fake? Is it possible to authenticate?
I don’t want to get burned by an AirSoft light.

The best way is to pick up a Surefire Scout instead. The WMX200 is outclassed by the current scouts in every way possible.
Pics would be the first thing that would help us identify if fake or real. I’ve seen some real good fakes. Main thing to look for is the pressure switch port. If it’s a 3.5mm headphone jack style, it’s most definitively fake.
