"Investigators believe that the gunman who charged a security checkpoint outside the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Saturday was targeting Trump administration officials, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said on “Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan.”
The suspect is in custody and has been identified as 31-year-old Cole Allen of Torrance California, multiple sources told CBS News. He was armed with a shotgun, a handgun and knives, and is believed to have acted alone, police said. Authorities said they have “preliminary information” that Allen was a guest at the Washington Hilton Hotel, where the event was being held. As part of the probe into his motives, investigators are reviewing writing by Allen that was found in the hotel.
A Secret Service agent was struck by a round but was wearing a bulletproof vest and is expected to be OK, law enforcement sources said.*
President Trump and members of his administration were safely evacuated following the shooting. The president returned to the White House and held a news conference, praising officers for their response and telling Americans, “We have to resolve our differences.” He said the dinner would be rescheduled and held within the next 30 days.*

So the Secret Service agent who had to go to the hospital, even though he lived due to the body armor he was wearing, was obviously shot with the 12 gauge the perp used. Buckshot, slug? Kinda confirms what I’ve heard about body armor and shotguns, especially a slug: you’re gonna be hurt, maybe not killed but taken out of the fight.

When you teach someone to safely shoot a gun, we do so in a controlled enviroment. A controlled enviroment means it is sterile and without observable “No Shoot” scenrio’s.
This is why the second part of training needs to be scenerio’s with shoot/no shoot targets.

I think many problems in society would subside if folks were more focused on real daily life rather than the latest TikTok video… idle hands and all that.
I knew a guy in Tucson who was the Son of a very famous Heart Surgeon and a friend of my Dad’s. This guy was mega rich from his sucess as a Surgeon and some things he had developed and invented along the way. This was the mid to late 70’s so it was a pionering time in Heart Surgery.
Worst Father ever, one of his Children was a Suicide, one was in prison the one Son semi my age lived in Tucson, sold weed and was a part-time student.
