Which Tape Switch?

Ok,

I’ve decided on a flashlight system for my AR. I’m running a Noveske 14.5" Light Carbine Low Profile with Switchblock Rail. I’m planning to use a Surefire 6P with a Malkoff M60WF upgrade in an VLTOR Quick Detach Offset Flashlight Mount. I may switch to an G2 for weight savings later on, but have a NIW 6P sitting on the shelf.

Where I’m stuck is what to use for a tape switch. $120 seems a little steep for an XM-06/07. I know, I have a ton of $$$ sunk into this project already, but I really don’t want to have over $300 in what will basically still be a 6P.

Does anyone make a tailcap/tape switch for the 6P that is a little less coin, but still durable and reliable? Thanks for any help here.

Do you really need the tape switch? Search the threads (I have trouble doing that) there is a thread with pics of weapon mounted lights that may give you some ideas. Your 6p on a VTAC mount ($24) near the front sight can be positioned close enough to activate it with your thumb.

I want the Vltor offset to get the light high & tight against the rail in the 1 O’Clock position (as close to 12 O’Clock as I can get with the Troy BUIS and M4-2000). With the light mounted there, I think it will be tough to reach the tailcap from my Larue FUG, which I have mounted about mid way down the rail. I also want the QD so I can take it on and off rapidly. I don’t intend to keep it mounted all the time.

Thanks for the alternative though!

don’t buy G&P or other 10$ switch, as they did not like my surefire 6P with SF L60 bulb. Switch did not operate.
