Looking to stock up on some M855. The four brands I am looking at are PMC X-TAC,Federal XM855,LC M855 and the Privy M855.
I am on a budget of about $100-$150 every couple of weeks. So I could pick up about 300 rnds of the PMC or Federal for $104 plus shipping 300 rnds of LC for $114 plus shipping or 200 rnds of the Privy for $86 plus shipping.
Obviously I can pick up more for less of the PMC or Federal but I am willing to pay a little more for the better ammo if its performance can justify the extra cost.
So what do you guys think?

If you SHTF ammo now, just grab a few boxes off the shelf locally.
I keep hoping Cabelas will have some of the X-Tac since they have tons of the other PMC loads.
I don’t want to buy case quantities of the stuff, but I’d like to try a little.

The prices for the PMC,LC and Federal are from Palmetto state armory and the Privy is from Widners.
My question was more which is the most consistant,accurate and closest to mill spec?
it’s not match ammo… any of these manfers produce consistent-enough ammo.
if you want the closest to mil m855, anything from lake city (federal xmXXX) is the logical answer- thats where mil ammo is actually produced. however, not necessarily- we’ve seen plenty of inconsistency from xmXXX ammo.
so i’d get whats cheap. if you don’t like what you get out of your first case, buy something different next month.
