Which Gold Dot for Carbine?

My local cop supply shop has both the 55 grain 5.56 and 64 grain 223 in stock. I shot a box of each at 50 yards and they were both poa/poi so no real difference that I could tell and acceptably accurate.

Obviously the 55 grain rounds are 5.56 and nickel coated and the 64’s are 223 and brass (no coating). Also both cost the same.
What one would be preferred for shtf/duty/home/defense/medium game hunting? Does the 556 variety use a low flash propellant? It seems this round is targeted more to LE as I cannot find it anywhere locally or online other than at the aforementioned cop shop.

Thanks

“Is this now the best all around…”. The title could be better, but the topic is on the 64 gr GD.

I like the 64
