I was looking into Gunault but it seems that the fingerprint scanners are not consistent.
Looks like Barska makes good ones.
Any input or recommendations?
I dont see any security forums, but if it needs to be moved, kist lmk where it ended up. 
I am in the same boat still looking, but I would suggest before buying do a search on the data base for Forbes magazine, there was some testing done on these so called night stand safes and they didn’t do well
Personally I won’t trust something so important to electronic “do-dads”. I prefer a key or combo lock.

I agree with this. The electronic safe is a good idea, but we all know that electronics are prone to failure, usually at the worst time.
I don’t trust biometrics for something like this. What if your hand is sweaty, bloody, greasy, dirty? What if you were injured in the hand to the point that the knife wielding home invader cut off the finger tip? What if your hand got burned? What if you have to tell a loved one/friend/date/etc to go get the weapon because you’re hands on with the bad guy, but they aren’t programmed?
I’ll stick with a regular gunvault or just concealment. YMMV.
I have the top draw pistol safe and find it to be much better than the biometric versions.
The Liberty National is what I have on order; with a Bio-Lock. It comes with a backup keypad for those ugly types of situations. It’s S & G lock and you can select finger print only or FP and code. Plus the safe itself is unbeatable. I’ve found GREAT dealer here in NC and saved my about $1k on the price!!

I have a gunvault but its not biometric it uses a combination of buttons to push and has a key backup. I think it’s a good compromise and as long as the batteries are good I’ve never had a problem.
I think some of the new ones can be plugged in mad the battery is just for a backup.
Went through the same research recently and ended up with a vline simplex lock box for my bedside gun. Nothing electronic to break and I’m not dependent on an iffy fingerprint reader to give me access to my pistol in the middle of the night.

When in bed for the night, the electronic safe is open. When not home, the safe is locked. No fussing trying to get something open…
Sparky, please do a review when you get the Liberty National in. I am intrigued and thank you may have a good viable option.

I would caution you against biometrics. Even under the best of circumstances they aren’t as reliable as you might think unless you spend lots and lots of money.

Will do…my purchased got stymied by a numb nuts who crawfish end on a real estate deal I had cooking. Needless to say I was a more than a bit pissed…but that’s a story for another thread! Whenever I actually get it bought, I’ll write one!

I’d second the Vline.
I have had one electronic gun safe go bad and other in which I waited too long to replace the batteries & it didn’t have the power to unlatch.
The Vline is very well constructed and needs no batteries to work. I practiced where I can easily open it in the dark by feel only.
Side story on one of the electronic safes - my company sent me to other location for a year and provided the housing with cleaning services. I got the safe the looks like a clock/radio. When I was moving out a year later, the cleaning lady came by. I asked if she had noticed anything about the radio. She said that she knew something wasn’t right with it when she moved it to dust the night stand because it was too heavy for just a radio.
