Just curious, I’m thinking about buying one. I’m currently set up for 6.5 Creedmore and 5.56. Looking to get in to .357 and 30-30.

Winchester Power Points in 150 or 170 grains flavors have been slaying deer for decades and was the gold standard before all the new fancy bullets. It’s all I used back when I hunted with my 30-30.

I have never taken a 30-30 hunting, but I make some mild target loads for plinking on steel.
170 grain Soft Point with 21.6 grains of N133, seated at 2.55 COAL.
I have also made what I believe are subsonic loads using a 170 grain powder coated lead bullet with 7 grains of Titegroup. It costs about the same as reloading 45ACP.
