Just wondering what everyone is shooting as far as range/target/plinking ammo through their rifles. I’m shooting american eagle 55gr stuff and was wondering if there’s something else out there that I should be shooting.
Handloads
What brass do you use? I was thinking about going to the local range and picking up brass. I already save all my 6.8 brass. I think next year I’m going to start reloading so I can do more shooting.
I pick up any 556/223 brass I find. Brass is your most expensive component. I have not found any that I really had to discard. Some I like better than others. But like I said. The way brass is right now. I pick it all up.
I can make my own for about $.17/rnd.

all my shooting is xm193 and 75gr training TAP these days, but i’m probably gonna be snagging a few cases of Wolf now that it’s everywhere again.
wasn’t but 6 or 7 years ago you were paying too much if you bought Wolf .223 at $.10/rnd. xm193 was floating within a couple cents of $.20. man… i think back on those days, and wonder why i wasn’t shooting 3,000 rounds a month.
was also back before i was married and had 3.5 kids… had all the time in the world to do whatever the fuck i wanted.
I have had good luck with S&B 55gr FMJ.
I voted other or what ever comes out the right side of the Dillon RL550B.
Make my own - 55gr and 62gr LC FMJ lately.
Most of my shooting recently has been with Fiocchi .223 and XM193. I really need to get into reloading one of these days.
I Generally shoot my handloads.
But I need to burn through some 08 M855 that Iraqgunz hooked me up with. It’s weird shooting full powered ammo after using my mild practice loads for so long.
Q3131A but have heard good things about Privi so it will be my next bulk purchase.

I too use my own fodder. When I have to use factory, I have some Federal XM193 still, but I save that stuff. One day I’ll sell it to pay off my mortgage.
Where are you getting Q3131A?
If I had any more of it, I’d be selling it on gunbroker because it brings good money.

Ive got a bunch of Prvi m193, PMC .223 and some q3131a that Ive been using as range ammo.
my rifle seems to like the pmc the best as far as accuracy from what I listed, but I have a ton of Prvi right now as the PMC is running pretty low.
I found a bunch of Q3131A at a Dicks sporting goods a few months ago, but its nearly all gone. paid way to much for it too.
I still have about 5 boxes of Q3131 thats about 10 years old. price on the box is $2.50 for 20…
