What would be a High round count ????

What would be concidered a High round count??. For a STAG Arms m4
what are your thought on the stag brand ??

and if round count is high what would you change out or apply or provide maintnance to

thanks guys

Swap out the extractor spring and buffer at 5k, and FCG at 10k. Also replace the recoil spring somewhere in there. Filthy 14 changed many people’s conceptions about the durability of ARs in general, but this assumes quality parts are used in the beginning and throughout.

Thanks the rifle a friend may get is the mil-spec stag but has approx a 1,500 rd count thru it and thats on the high end may be lower.

That’s not many rounds at all. Many folks burn through that many rounds over the course of 1-2 days.

The MIL-SPEC Stag? Is that like an albino unicorn?

No, it can be had for a slight upcharge from Stag

There’s a thread on here somewhere about that…

Called the plus package, I think. What I was trying to get at is the rarity of it, and how common it is to actually see one. How many times have you seen people claim that normal Stags, RRA’s, and BM’s are MIL-SPEC? I hear it all the time. That’s more what I was speaking to. I would make damn sure that I “verified what I thought I knew” about that rifle before committing to it…IE making sure it’s actually got the upgrades.

And even if it does have the upgrades, are they still overgassed like their other rifles? Is the 4150 that they state they use rated to MIL-B-11595E??? Does anybody really know?

yeah not sure all i know is the rifle is owned by the gun stores smith , he ordered it from stag.

My gut instinct, without seeing this thing in person, is to run. When I think gun store 'smith, I envision this guy jackhammering a 3 piece rod with a brush on the end in and out of the muzzle both ways like a rabies crazed nutcase. That’s a generalization, but let’s be serious, it’s often accurate.

What model is this, specifically, and what accessories does it have? How much are they selling it for?

I think you will likely find a better deal on a higher quality rifle either new or on the Equipment Exchange here.

What’s he asking?

a0cake, that’s one of the biggest things people overlook when talking commercial grade weapons. See, we can swap the BCG and other internals, but the gas port is what it is. Glad you mentioned that.

Personally, I don’t like that a company up charges their customers, beyond that of a professional grade, milspec rifle, to basically give it a “reliability package”. I don’t really care what Stag offers, in my eyes they’re a commercial grade weapon regrdless of packages and that would not give me much faith in the rifle.

$850 upgraded trigger ,magpul hardware , gas buster charging handle and a couple other things the guy just got out of the military as an armour , thats all i know post more details later

No deal.

For that kind of money you are knocking on the doorstep of Colt or BCM…

nevermind, thinking Army armorers
Listen to the people here in this thread.

OP, at the price you can get a new Tier One weapon. The choice should be a no-brainer.

yeah he was a usmc armour at quantico mainly did the a4’s and m40 series rifles , and worked for Colt for awhile but not sure how long

not a problem rifle is a no go, he went with a bcm

ETA:: oops, messed that up

Sounds like he was a small arms repair specialist or USMC equivalent. In the Army, the word “armorer” is usually associated with a supply guy with minimal training working in the arms room. Small arms repair specialists know their way around guns. We were fortunate enough to have some attached to us at the unit level. Their ability to quickly fix a broken M2 or MK19 was uncanny.
