Here I go again. I guess I’m naive or idealistic. What ever happened to good old backorder. Seems some companies don’t do backorder. Instead they Email you when items are in stock. Doesn’t seem too fair to me. I work for a living and don’t have the luxury of playing on my computer all day. With the current craze going on for AR related parts, I can’t imagine companies getting stood up by customers when products become available in stock. They have your shipping and payment info. This is like general admission at a Who concert. Not quite, but it is bedlam. What do you guys think? Maybe I’m missing something.
either way… i personally like being able to have my PDA chime when something gets in and order it right then and there and know you’ll have it in a week or less
i can also see why some places wouldnt want to backorder… the way people are buying right now, you could easily get backordered tens of thousands or orders- and since a LOT of those people who place orders for $1,000+ items will probably back out in 4 months, but you’ve already ordered enough parts to fill the 30,000 backorders you have, etc., etc., i can see how it could get messy.

Im guessing you will see a bit of a bump for guys selling crap after SHOT though to get new crap unveiled at SHOT…maybe pick up some stuff used.
I scored a good deal on a NIW LMT FA Carrier and a NIW BCM bolt today on TOS EE today…but I work on my computer all day…and they popped up during lunch.

if you’re willing to wait, LMT isnt nearly as far behind on BCGs as they are on uppers/rifles… not that it gives you any idea how far behind they are NOW, but i ordered two BCGs direct from LMT on about December 1 and they shipped december 18 or so. less than three weeks.
Does that mean i could order an upper with bcg from LMT and it’ll get here when it gets here, and I don’t have to worry about catching a stupid email from a vendor that will sell out before I get it anyway?
