What best describes you?

You can choose multiple selections as I know many people have both LE and military backgrounds. Please make choices that make sense though (for example don’t choose every single option) so that the results have some meaning.

I’ve been back and forth between .mil and civilian and contracting so much, it is hard to track.

I assume you wanted military retirees to select the multiple “prior service” options that corresponded to their years of service. That’s what I did, in any case.

I figured that would happen if there was any overlap. Probably the best way to handle it.

Cant pick one Rob I’m back and fourth Mil/Civ/Student/Ironworker two enlistments and one extension in two diffrent branches. Now I just have to finish college. Where is the choice for guys who were in before Sept 11th?

22 years OTJ with over a decade with my current full time unit. I am definitely not getting any younger. :frowning:

11+ years in fire support and pissing people off.

4 years of university, 10 years of construction, 15 years of playing in rock bands.

I realize this was not the point of this question; I include it simply because I suspect that even on M4C, the majority of readers (and probably even posters) are probably just interested civilians.

Former 5-0 firearms instructor (11 years), current computer security geek (13 years).

16 Years of Army fun…

I would have thought the same, but depending on how you read the results that may or may not be the case. If you consider prior-service/retired as “civilian” (as I do) then you are certainly correct.

Yeah, I guess it looks that way…

Well, thinking about it (now that I know the results and can use hindsight) I guess it’s not too surprising that a forum aimed pretty directly at the “switched on” segment of the population has a high percentage of people who have been through an LE or Mil organization.

I wonder how many civilians won’t take the poll? Out of whatever reason, they may not want to answer it.

For me, I’m waiting a month so I can change my answer from civilian to Active Duty.

I kind of wondered the same thing. Don’t know why it would matter though. And lots of civilians took the poll, all the LE, and all of the prior service military are civilians.

Just wondering if there may be any biases. Either way, I’m looking forward to the results when a majority of the users take the poll.

No military or LE background here.

I am a farmer, that would like to get into the Security/LE line of work…

13 down and 17 to go!
I will reach my time on before I am old enough to retire.

Go for it! What do you farm? My dad is a software engineer/chicken farmer. We have over 65k birds per flock.

Don’t laugh, but coming from New England, the really big cash crop up here is Maple Syrup, and right now, I work on a Maple Farm…

My family raised chickens (I thought having a few hundred birds at a time was bad enough…) when I was growing up, and I got plenty of experience with processing them…
