And, how much is each worth? Been wondering this awhile now.

They are specially made for the Assassins. They are a reference to the coins you use to pay Charon for passage to the underworld in Roman Mythology.

I saw something when the movie came out saying that if they are solid gold they would be worth 4000-5000 each depending on the exact size.
