Never much cared for the place anyway, but not because of the possibility of this…
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Three people were killed and two others injured late Saturday night in Myrtle Beach in two shootings in the downtown tourist area.
This is not mass murder, the article failed to mention it is also black bike week which is notorious for all types of bedlam and hell raising. Also a good bit of bangers out there.
Yep, just general run of the mill gang shoot 'em up. Nothing to get excited about. If that happens in Detroit or Chicaco, they call it a regular night.
This is one of the reasons I do not take my family there. Too many opportunities to be collateral damage. If it happens in Chicago or Detroit, or even here in little ol’ Durham, and a vacationing family gets whacked, I assure you it will not be a run-of-the-mill gang shoot 'em up.
No it still is not ok, kinda. The title made it sound like an “active shooter”. Two different things. One will be ignored the other will be used for poltical reasons. shooting happen all over all the time, depending on your environment. It was black bike week if you had your family there you bumped your head, cause that place gets nuts. I have responded to four shootings in an hour before but guess what I was working the hood. Still unacceptable but it happens in those areas.
If you are not mentally prepared for evil at all times you are going to be one step behind the curve when shit wilds out.
This is fairly common there unfortunately. My parents live there and we are in MB fairly often. However, for the last 10 years we have camped down there during Memorial Day weekend. The campsite we are in doesn’t allow bikes in the site at all. It’s also pretty much self contained. No need to leave the site at all. Every year they have double digit deaths either due to shootings or accidents. Both North MB and MB have tried to shut it down but there have been the race card’s being thrown around. Many business’s close for that weekend. The weekend before is regular bike week and most of those same business’s stay open. That tells you a
lot right there.
Similar event around here last night. Everyone started scrambling, “Oh no! Shooting at the beach on a holiday!” Media was quick to remind us of California last week.
