i know what a lot of ya are thinking “glock triggers suck!”
they’re a little gritty and spongey sure, but they have 2 things i like very much in high stress shooting. a long light first stage, and a very definitive reset.
the definitive reset seems especially hard to come by on rifle triggers… i find glocks very easy to double tap with thanks to this reset.
any words of wisdom?
LMT or RRA 2 stage feel kinda similar to Glocks.
I find the standard triggers on a BM, LMT, and N4 to have a pretty stout reset. And I shoot 90% stock Glock for pistol.
My goodness the reset on my stock N4 trigger is the strongest reset I have ever felt and I hated it as the trigger felt like a Glock on steroids.
I now have the Geissele SSA and the positive reset on it is very good and the trigger is fantastic!
I think that the 3 best combat weapons IMHO have similar trigger reset and relatively similar trigger break. Those guns are the AR, Glock and 1911. I will agree with gotm4 that the RRA 2 stage is very close to a Glock trigger.
how’s the RRA’s reliability rep? i had some kind of DPMS/mixed back trigger in my last rifle. reset was long, and there was no first stage. :mad:
I have Geissele SSA in two of my rifles. They sound like exactly what you want: light first stage, and very definitive (and short) reset.
My LMT 2-stage has the long, light first stage, but I don’t like the reset on it at all. It doesn’t reset very forcefully and I have to let the trigger all the way back out for it to fully reset. This is contrary to the Geissele SSA which allows me to just let out the second stage (the way you can ride a Glock’s reset).
I have heard that the hammers break at about 2000 rounds. I also heard that RRA fixed that problem. I am going to run Gissele triggers in all my new builds and when and if the RRA brakes, I will replace it with a Gissele too. So far the RRA has given me no problems and feels pretty good. I was also given such a good price on it that I couldn’t pass it up.
If the reset on my LMT trigger were any stronger it might have thrown my finger off of it after every shot.The SSA that just replaced it is strong as well.The trigger that came with my STAG LPK is only slightly less positive than the LMT was.
All are stronger than what my Glocks were…Or anything else I’ve ever shot(that I can recall).

I absolutely love my new SSA.The plan was just to use it for one rifle that’s set up a little more for range/precision(ACOG etc).Now I’m thinking about adding it to my other “house carbine” with an Aimpoint.
…As well as any/all future ARs.

Mine doesn’t allow this.
With the short reset and light first stage it almost feels that way.But I definitely seem to be reseting both stages.
Maybe I’m wrong: I’ll play with it more tonight. I know that I definitely don’t have to let it out as far as my LMT 2-stage though: the reset is much more positive.
stock Glock 19 and a Geissele SSA in my LMT…couldn’t be happier. It’s like they’re brother and sister, concerning their triggers and how i manipulate them.
S&W M&P with an Apex duty carry kit, and LMT with Geissele SSA here. Pretty much for the same reasons, too.
