wear on opposite side of cam pin recess inside upper receiver

I know that depending on who you ask wear around the half moon recess for the cam pin inside the upper receiver is normal and after much inquiry I believe this is so. I have a wear mark on the opposite side of the half moon recess inside the upper receiver and I have not seen any comments about this before. The receiver was purchased from BCM, one of their unmarked ones with the forward assist and dust cover, it has 1,400 rnds through it with the same bcg. Hope the pics are good enough to discern what I’m getting at. What I’d like to know is, if this is not a possible normality what is causing it? the top of the cam pin exhibits no abnormal wear nor anything else on the bcg from what I can tell. Should I scrap this upper? its a keyhole forge upper. Thanks in advance.

How’s it function? If you shoot your rifle there will be some wear taking place inside the receiver. Any wear will typically be a small amount and cease as the parts wear themselves in. Don’t worry about it.

well it functions fine, I just wasnt sure of the wear in this area is but I guess its no big deal.

Look for a corresponding burr on gas key of your BCG from the staking. If it is there, hit it down with a fine file.

No bur on the gas key, I guess it’ll just settle in at some point, not gonna wear a hole in it right?

No it wont wear a hole
