I’m sure many people are “on guard” today but if a riot is going to erupt - I’ll believe it when I see it while working the road tonight.

On a slightly different note. I am watching Fox News here in Baghad and it would appear that there is some voter intimidation going on in the Philadelphia area. Black Panthers standing at the entrances to voting places? WTF, over? I thought voter intimidation was a crime? If someone was wearing white sheets outside you can get their assess would have been arrested. Apparently all the police did was escort one of these guys of the premise.
People were also telling the Fox reporter that they couldn’t be outside the polling area even though the law says otherwise.
The color of your skin is a prominant issue in this election. Just ask the Obama supporters, they bring it up constantly. And the fact that nearly 75% of all black military personell have indicated they will vote Obama, indicates what a significant issue skin color really is this election. The color of your skin will dictate what you can get away with in the future. It’s called reverse discrimination in some circles, hypocracy in others, and bigotry no matter how you look at it.

not to derail this thread, but what “military sf groups” are taking part in preparring for domestic riots and violence?
My wife and I discussed this briefly a few days ago and both of us agreed that for this week (at least) we will travel a little “better equipped” than usual. We commute to and from a fairly large metropolitan area in Tennessee five days a week. I work less than 1/2 mile from a large ghetto area and my wife works in a hospital.
Usually I’d relegate this sort of talk to the tinfoil hat crowd, but given that some people will riot even if their favorite sports team wins (let alone loses), I am not leaving this one to chance. It’s hard to shake lessons learned in the Boy Scouts about being prepared.

I’m not so sure that would be a bad thing. Maybe it’s time we quit trying to deny the existence of the 500 pound gorilla sitting in the middle of the room. There is a severe philosophical division in this nation and the election of Obama and a fillibuster proof congress won’t make it better. In fact, it will make it worse, much worse.

Under the John Warner Defense Authorization Act, signed by President Bush on October 17, 2006, the law was changed to state, “The President may employ the armed forces to restore public order in any State of the United States the President determines hinders the execution of laws or deprives people of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law or opposes or obstructs the execution of the laws of the United States or impedes the course of justice under those laws.”
I am hearing about the possibility of a tactical alert with the local county agency. Nothing frim, mind you, but they might roll it out. best to be cautious, I suppose.
