Warmed up Kimber

Looks great!

What all did you do to it?

Awesome!

WOW!:dance3:

indeed- looks great. how did you overcome the kimberness?

dayum,looks good

Beautiful work as always, Chuck!

For some reason I really dig that recoil spring plug and tapered bushing, almost an HK45-type look. Otherworldly craftsmanship, as always. Thanks for sharing.

if you don’t mind sharing…how many hours are in her??

That is nice. How many hrs did that take?

As usual from Chuck- a piece of high artistry! WB

That is beautiful! I’ve been thinking of having mine warmed over.

This may be a stupid question, but what is “Kimberness”? I have an older Pro Tacictical II and i notice some people kringe when I tell them that… what gives?

Very, very nice!

Nice work on the Kimber!

Poke around and you will see what the opinion of m4c is on current factory built Kimbers. This is certainly not one of those.

Nice work. Looks great

do you mind telling us what barrel you use? I like how it comes right up to the barrel bushing but doesn’t go past it and also really love how it’s sorta beveled inwards and the edge polished like that. Did you buy it like that or did you make it like that? I would love to somehow do that to just the barrel of my kimber.

Looks amazing!

Hours?
No idea, I never keep track.
I quoted the work, the customer agreed to the price.
My hourly rate usually works out to be disappointingly low…
I’m going to be driving my old truck for a while longer!

badness,
That is the stock Kimber barrel.
It received a ‘Flush cut and match crown’ modification.

Thanks for the nice comments guys!

Keep your eyes open, I’ll be posting pics of a full-house build tomorrow.

Ha, ha, ha. Now THAT was funny.

Chuck, it’s just not right with you driving an old truck and all.
I mean, well, you are the only person that I know of that can make a turd into a diamond… :dance3:

kimber’s just a little too enthusiastic about MIM part manufacturing, and not quite enthusiastic enough about part fitting… so they’ve got a bit of a rep for failing in unkind ways.
