Today’s “Heritage Flight” – a diamond formation of a P-51, an F-15, an F-16 and an FA-22 – might just be the most moving aerial tribute I’ve ever seen.
I work as a contractor for the Columbus Reginal Airport Authority. I Heard today from a few of the execs that they are all ready working on plans for next year.
Rickenbacker is a super facility for an air show. When my family and I were heading for the exits late Sunday, we chatted a bit with Community Affairs Exec for the 121ARW – she had nothing but good things to say about the event and the way it was managed.
By the way, if they bring back the pyro guy next year, I hope your contract has something to do with fire response and suppression – the folks in Bexley must’ve been pretty spooked Sunday.
When I used to live in northern/northeastern Kentucky, I would occasionally see jets coming from the north, and they seemed to be practicing flying/fighting techniques. One time they were flying so low as they passed across the highway where I was driving, that I realized I was ducking. It was very cool to watch.
