Does anyone happen to know if a 10.5" barrel will work with the 10" VIS and allow enough clearance for an AAC suppressor mount? I haven’t seen any pics or set ups like this. I did some measuring and comparison with an 11.5" barrel and it looks very tight. If anyone has seen pics of such a set up, let me know.
Eighteen odd months ago I was trying to do the same thing. I ended up with a 10 inch VIS instead of a 9 inch VIS, primarily because that was the first one that became available.
That gun is at home right now, and I’m not, so no pictures, but there just isn’t enough room to screw the can down on the adapter.
I’m not sure if it’s because some of the measured 10.5 inches is part of what actually goes into the receiver, but you don’t get the half inch of threads sticking out the front of the 10 inch VIS, and, consequently, don’t have room to thread the can on the adapter.
Fortunately (for me) I realized that early and built that gun with an AAC Blackout (flash hider only) and ended up with another gun to run the can on.

I kind of had a feeling that it would be close. I think we are going to end up doing an 11.5" instead.
It’s a no-go, but oh so close. I went with the 9" VIS on my 10.5" N4 barrel. I have a 10" lite rail on my 11.5" barrel. Truth is besides for the looks, I can’t even tell the difference between the handguard lengths. Both handle very well. Go with the 11.5", it will be easier on your M4-2K anyway.
