I got 3rd place in limited 2nd in Revolver, 1st in open (only 2 shooters) and 2nd overall

A pic of the guns I used. I used my Glock 17 in limited because I recently switch to using it as my duty gun as I sold my Wilson 1911. I wanted to get used to the holster and figured this match would help. I also used my Open Caspian 38 super comp and my model 19 Smith.

Great videos Popo. I thought you looked faster and more consistent with the 19… which is impressive. I really like the 19 (loaded with 38 wadcutters;))

Thanks but my scores were 63 some seconds (going by memory here) with the Open gun, 75 seconds or so with the Glock and 80 seconds or so with the 19. I had the 19 loaded with 158 grain semi wadcutters over a 4.5 grains of Unique. Part of what slowed me down with the 19 is knowing I could only miss once. It tends to make you shoot a bit more conservative.

In the 1st video your draw w/ the open gun seemed slow and then w/19 seemed much faster I guess… Then obviously your draw sped up as the match progressed. Something Ive always meant to do before matches is do a dryfire session at home or on an empty bay so that I dont do “my” ususal and I think common for others is start slow and finish fast.

Part of what you observed is it still takes me a split second longer to aquire the red dot sight on the pistol. Once I have it then I can blaze. This is something I am working on.

I miss the days when I could clearly see the sight on an M19… I envy you:) i’m going to be going to see the eye Doc this month to work on a new RX for irons.
