So I’ve done a little research and found out the model year, but am having trouble figuring out the value of this gun…any help would be appreciated.
Serial # 1396283
2 3/4", 28" barrel, 20ga, good condition, made in 1953
(I believe it may be a feather weight model?)
I have been told on another forum the value is pushing the $800 mark but would like to confirm before I put it up for sale.
I’ve got one just about like it in 16 ga. It was my great grandfather’s and he rarely ever used it. I can tell you that as a general rule, when it comes to antique shotguns, 20 ga guns are usually a little more valuable to collectors due to being more rare. I’ve never fired mine, I guess my great grandfather was the last to shoot it, and he died in the mid 1970s. I take it out of the safe every few months and oil it, but that’s about it. The bore is pristine and the only part with any blue worn off is on the slide rails.
I’d like to know how to search the serial number to approximate a date of manufacture. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Will tell you the date is was made. Youre right about 20ga being the most valuable.
There a few website dedicated to this model where you can learn what exactly you have, but they ask you to pay for the value. Check out the blue book for prices, I did not have one so a member of another forum kindly researched it for me.
I will pm you the link, perhaps they can help you as well.
