Using 5.56 ammo

I have an Rock River Arms LAR-15. It’s the kind with A2 flat top detachable optic mount with built in iron sight. Inscribed on the magwell is 5.56mm. Seems pretty straight forward. I know that 5.56 is the basically the same as .223 in caliber retrospect. The loads differ in pressure within the chamber. I haven’t shot 5.56 out of my rifle yet. Mainly because I want to be sure that this particular model can accept the 5.56 load. Any input would be appreciated
