Lookin at changin my buffer system, was thinkin of goin with a spikes ST-T2 buffer with a sprinco red spring. Any advice on my decision? Runnin a 14.5 carbine gas system shooting 62-77 grain.

I’d go with a mil spec H2 buffer and a Sprinco blue action spring.
Stay away from the ST-T2 and stick with a traditional H2, or better yet grab a Vltor A5 system.
Chances are, you want an H2 buffer, or there about, but it would be useful to know what your gas port diameter is before making changes
As mentioned, I would want to know WHO makes the barrel first. A correct MILSPEC port will push and H2. I would recommend the Vltor A5.
It’s a Daniel defense barrel, the upper is a a factory DD upper. Why stay away from the T2?

Because the Spikes T2 buffer doesn’t stop bolt bounce very well
Why not just leave it alone?
Another vote for the A5 system.
Stock spring is weak

With the A5 being 3.8oz wouldn’t you want something in the 4oz range? I think the stock is a 3oz

Weights for the A5 buffers
A5H0: 3.80oz
A5H1: 4.56oz
A5H2: 5.33oz
A5H3: 6.08oz
A5H4: 6.83oz
Ahh thank ya

This is what we run in all our carbine length gas system setups (16" bbl.'s). Works great for use.
I do have a H3 buffer and Sprinco red spring, just haven’t tried them yet. I bought them for the heck of it…plug and play! :dance3:
Good luck, NYH1.
A5H2 is a good starting point.
I also agree with mil-spec H2 with blue Sprinco.
A5 H2 Springco Green. That combo will usually work great with carbine or intermediate length systems. (I’ve only had to go H3 with a very over gassed Noveske 16" Recon.)
What year did you purchase your 16" recon? I have a pre Johns death Recon and its not overgassed.
Also as stated above a H2 + blue springco is a good set up, a vltor A5 with A5H2 or A5H3 + green springco depending the ammo you are shooting is even better.
Regularly shoot Winchester 62 grain or 77 grain, I’m thinkin I might try the A5h2 or a colt H2 with a red spring

Why the red spring?
From springcos website they recommend red for carbine
